This is good news, hopefully they get Konate as well. That’ll be them sorted at CB for years to come.

It’s Madrid dropping their weighty girth on Bournemouth and telling them they’ll pay the money, but when it suits them and another tax period.

Interesting move from Madrid. A shift perhaps from the typical galactico signings.

They have been heavily investing on young players for years now. Endrick, Guler, Rodrygo, Vinicius Junior, Tchouameni, Camavinga. Signing the likes of Mbappe and Hazard, superstars, is more exemption than rule for them.

They’re also signing TAA who does nothing for their defence too, Perez sprinkling in some of the old ways.

They didn’t need Mbappe either IMO, that signing was vanity. They would have been better off fixing their midfield which is broken

There’s a reason they’ll likely go trophyless this season whilst also getting destroyed four times in a row by Barcelona

Mbappe scored his 40 goals though

I don’t think signing Mbappe for free would be something any club would turn down.
They should have signed someone in midfield though.

They were also unlucky with some of the defensive injuries.

I don’t think it’ll be a success at all you know. Quite confident he’s destined to fail at RM.

I think he’s gonna be fantastic for them.

He has his team obviously. No way he does all the work alone at this point, after getting all the recognition in the recent years (and the money).

It’s still costing them between €100-150m, it’s not exactly cheap.

They didn’t need him and it’s made their team even more unbalanced, Mbappe is lazy as hell off the ball too and in Europe he’s been quite average.

@SRCJJ: he doesn’t solve any issues and makes the team even more unbalanced, in big games how does he help them? Against Barca yesterday imagine him in the team against that attack lol

I think it could be an awful fit in the end.

He’ll do well in the majority of their games though as they’ll dominate the ball under xabi and as much as I think he’s overrated, he’s a clear upgrade on Lucas Vasquez.

Big games (Barca, atleti) and whether it helps them in the CL is another story. Gives us a nice avenue to expose if we meet them again next year :slightly_smiling_face:

Will he though

Have you been watching them this season in La Liga?

They don’t dominate games like that

Under Carlo they don’t, hence I mentioned they’ll dominate the ball more under xabi.

For the way Madrid play under carlo, Trent would be pretty useless. Although he’d help solve the midfield creativity issues they have.

The fact that they would’ve signed him regardless of manager is just Madrid tings. It’s certainly going to work out better since they’ve changed coach.

To dominate the ball more you need the certified midfield that works as a unit

They don’t currently have that yet which is why I wouldn’t necessarily bet on it

TAA isn’t solving anything in midfield either IMO, he ain’t a midfielder

On this I dont mean from him playing in midfield but he often drifts there from RB (more under klopp last season) to add more quality on the ball, which he could do for Madrid given their lack of creativity in midfield these days.

Would allow them to play the runners they have today and let Trent drift in to play at the base. His on the ball play is the only bit I’ll give him credit for, defensively he’s wank.

I think he’ll be fine for 80% of their games playing as a purely attacking RB or coming in to support midfield.

TAA will be spamming long balls to Mbappe all day. Exactly what he has done with Salah.

TAA depends on the system heavily, in order to be really productive.

He’s not really a great CM, unlike some would suggest. He only has a great passing range, but he’s pretty average under pressure, not somene to really make the difference in the middle in a somewhat demanding game.

He’s not a great dribbler or ball carrier either, as Alves for example. He needs an empty area to produce.
They used to create that in Liverpool with having Salah to draw the defenders and leave that space to TAA. He’s obviously devastating with his crosses but not someone to make a difference on his own. He’s kinda close to the modern David Beckham.
I don’t think he’ll do particularly well or bad ar Madrid. He’s a top top player no doubt, but I don’t think he’ll have the required setup around him, as he had at Liverpool, to be as productive as he was.

All that withouth taking his shit defending into account lol
If they rely on him in that way it will look bad.

Yep

One of the reasons TAA is unable to play CM at least for a top team is because he’s not press resistant and additonally like you say he isn’t dribbler or ball carrier.

When TAA gets the ball its gone in one or two touches, he doesn’t keep it. He wants it gone like its on fire and so doesn’t dictate, set the pace or control. All elements of what an ideal top of the line CM would be doing for example the likes of Pedri

So really he is predominantly going to be playing at RB but is defensively suspect, Real don’t really have a creation problem they score a good deal of goals what they do need, however, is the replacement for Kroos (not an easy task obvs) who can really dictate the game and knit it all together. Right now I don’t think they are so able to break down well-oiled teams that not only attack but can defend and press as a cohesive unit.

Apparently us and Chelsea have been the two teams that were the most active in the last day to understand what the situation is with this kid.
Liverpool dropped their interest

We really were that keen then.
Chelsea and Liverpool are now looking at Hato. Surely we’ll be in the mix too?
@Bl1nk Would he be ready for such a move?

Yes, he’s ready. Looks very mature for his age.
