If Raya is happy being backup and waiting for an opportunity then it makes sense

Ramsdale was probably feeling too comfortable having Matt Bumner as his competitor. He is making too many mistakes atm and his distribution is shocking. Raya is just what we need. Let them fight for the no1 spot.
I couldnāt tell you without Googling. But a top team should have a good back up for every position including a keeper. Those clubs are just being negligent with that position.

The idea of a ācompetitionā where the Ā£40m new signing ends up as the number two is laughable.
Pretty clear Arteta and the coaching staff have had their eye on Raya for a while and they want to evolve passing out from the GK spot. Not shocking guys like Tomi and KT, who are less technical, are being relegated to the bench

The problem is that you cant really compare Rammers to Alisson or Ederson. They are on another planet.
I think whatās more the norm is top clubs having #2 keepers who they wouldnāt want to play a significant amount of the season in the event of significant injury.
If the transfer goes through I imagine one of these two will be gone within the next 2 seasons and I doubt itās Raya
@sevchenko: agreed, think some arenāt seeing this objectively simply because they like Ramsdale. This is not good news for him at all no matter how anyone tries to sell it as such
This is good news. Most back-up keepers have ambitions to play regularly, I wouldnāt be surprised if Turner wants regular football.
As for Ramsdale, I donāt want any of our players thinking their name is on the team sheet every week. Let them fight it out for no.1, it can only be a good thing for us fans.

Well said . We are in for a long season . We need top quality back up . A ākeeper is no different. Possibly more important than fans think .

keeper is a weird position to have 2 top keepers in, itās normally always a top keeper and a competent backup
If weāre fine spunking Ā£40M~ on another keeper, I would say that our business isnāt over for further incomings.

Iāve watched Raya quite a lot over the last couple of years as I go to Brentford games fairly often and he really is amazing.
Heās so overlooked in the PL, but heās actually one of the best keepers imo.

Probably the best distribution of any keeper in the league, or at leas top 3. Heās very good with the ball at his feet.

I absolutely love the new Arsenal. What Mikel, Edu and the Kronkeās have done is nothing short of amazing.
If you keep fucking up, youāre out. Itās as simple as that. Ruthlessness has been the missing ingredient from this club over the last 20 years.
Glad we finally have that steel from the top brass again.
I knew Ramsdale was going to be replaced sooner or later, we concede so many goals. Itās not just his fault, but heās been gifting a ton of goals lately. It has to be addressed.
Holy smokes. If he can keep 5 our of 6 long kicks in play its an improvement.
Fucking hell, I swear I was gonna post this yesterday on the wishlist thread that we should sign him next summer on a free and let Turner go but then saw he was heavily linked to Bayern.

There are rumours that Forest are interested in Turnerā¦If thatās the case we are buying Raya as a replacement/upgrade for Turner, maybe to compete for No.1 spot but the motivation doesnāt appear to be to replace Ramsdale.
