Knowing Brentford, they have already identified a goalkeeper and probably already sorted that transfer so they’re just waiting for Raya to find his next club.
Yeh but if they don’t budge to 20-25m it’s not purely up to arsenal. Frank saying they are happy to sell us nothing new, he said that in April/may too.
They’ve signed two keepers since July so they’ve replaced him at least for the upcoming season.
Maybe they settle for around £25m - £30m including add ons
It’s the age old game of chicken, they don’t have a huge deal of leverage but they also know we want him and clearly looking to upgrade our strength in the position if not have a view of him being our long term #1

Competitive bid. I reckon a £25m bid would have got accepted
£25m would be a banging deal for a backup/rotation GK. Can sell Turner for a profit.
Can’t wait to hear that a 20m bid is disrespectful.

Apparently David Raya is homegrown, that could be another reason why we’re signing him.

Apart from Ramsdale, the only real depth we have is Turner, so if he wants to leave. Arteta might want to upgrade to someone who can challenge Ramsdale.
It seems a bit of a luxury signing but if we can get him for less than what we paid for Ramsdale it does give us plenty of depth.
The more I think about this one, the more it makes sense. It feels like it’s happening too.
Just cover for Saka to get and we have the perfect window.
