I agree we need another CM, but that tweet is from 2020? The problem is Dani regressed horribly last season after looking promising towards the end of the 2018/20 season.
All of our players have regressed tho, and there’s a reason for that. Anyways Dani continued to play well only issue was the mistakes he made leading to goals in the EL which Partey also made but went unpunished so the spotlight went on to Dani.

Instead of wasting nearly £30m on Andre Santos, Arteta and Gervinho he could easily have just signed a competent defensive midfielder.
We really didn’t need a lot of the dross we signed around those years should have just put the money towards better players.
We spent about £50m that summer and only Per Mertesacker looks like a deal that was worth it in hindsight. Ox never developed although we got a nice few for him.
