I refuse to believe our management team would be that incompetent. Everyone and their mom can see at this point how shockingly bad Xhaka is, and the liability he creates in midfield. Emery just said Ceballos can play as an 8 or 10. Sure I could see him taking minutes FROM Özil because Emery and co weren’t completely happy with his performance last season. However if the plans aren’t to play Ceballos, Torreira, and Guendouzi in the midfield this season…this club is honestly on the verge of being a victim of natural selection. Might as well pack this shit club up and move on 🖒🖒

wonder how many he promised Suarez last summer, minus 40?
Well last season Xhaka got 40 apps, while Gonzo got 48 apps and Torreira 50 apps.
We still found 40 apps for Ramsey and 17 for Elneny who both seem to be leaving, and 35 apps for Özil on top of that.
We can probably get 40 apps in there somehow if that’s what he wants. If not, I think he is the type that should play all the games, he’s not a super sub as far as I can tell, and I wonder if that’s how we’ll use him, first on the team sheet, or if he’ll be just like the other early 20’s midfielder we loaned in from a Spanish top club last season and we barely see him unless we need to fill an injury slot or rest a guy.

Absolute nutcase.
It’s just really annoying we are going to give him playing time, with Madrid reaping his equity whilst we are left with another void to fill next summer.
Really hope we can squeeze in an option to buy.

Real Madrid definitely sell their talent I’m sure we’re fairly decent odds for signing him at the end of the season, we should be more worried about buy-back clauses and shit like that. They love putting that shit in to nab their players back.
It’s easy for them to do it cos the players invariably want to go back there.

Why would a loanee displace Xhaka? All he’s going to do is displace Guendouzi and stunt his development while we develop Ceballos for Real Madrid like a fucking cuckoo

Players who were Real Madrid surplus to requirements: Ozil, Kaka, James, Juan Mata, Saul, Jese, Kovacic, Morata.
Not to mention 2 of our best ever players were surprlus to requirements.
Does it matter if we play better football and win more games? Maybe competition for places push both to be better anyway.
