Now that’s just dumb and Viera is badly done too if that happens.
Board aren’t coming out this well at all
In talks with Woy…Palace are deluded
Enjoy your retirement man, you earnt it. Why do this.
Reckon they are done for if they go ahead with this. I’d be more inclined to leave Paddy McCarthy at it tbh.
Maybe he wants a proper send off from Palace seeing as he left at the end of the no fans season
What a joke
What is Steve Parrish doing? That’s such a dumb move. They deserve relegation at this point.
At least Everton got Dyche in to firefight.
Do Palace still have cheerleaders?
Hodgson is pretty much double the age of Arteta
A quick google says yes. Surprised that they predate this US ownership.
They are in a tailspin here but still at least in arm wrestling with Viera in games.
This will deflate a large part of the dressing room and fanbase.
A massive lift for every side beneath them this move. Disastrous move.
They have 8 teams from the bottom half left to play. You have to think Vieira would’ve picked up points from that lot given the tough run they’ve had recently. Swear we’re the only team that beat them comfortably?
Remains to be seen if this will be a fairytale ending for Hodgson but have a feeling it will go wrong.
They deserve to go down for this.
Apparently he’s on for a £10m bonus if he keeps them up.
The narrative will of course be that they were right to sack Vieira. Despite the fact that the gulf in teams the two managers will have been tested against is quite wide.
They deserve to go down…
Sack Vieira without a manager already lined up - WTF - amateur hour at it’s finest. Then put in their youth coach to lead the game against the side top of the table (I was obviously happy with this from an Arsenal perspective) and then go back to Woy. Vieira had shown he took points from the lower teams (their next 10 games see 8 against lower half opposition).
Vieira stats at Palace
Hodgson stats previously with Palace
Hodgson is a reserved, defence first coach, but Palace’s problems haven’t been conceding goals, it has been failure to score - how can any owner possibly think he is the right choice to help a team that is struggling to score?
Oh yea, this is going to be ‘new manager bounce’ in reverse.
It’s actually a huge lift for Leicester next time out.
Surprisingly gone down well on Palace forums.
Wonder if that’s a indication they lost confidence in Vieira as well.
