Cristiano Ronaldo

I imagine it was always discussed as part of his signing that if he wants to leave they will let him.

Ronaldo is bigger than united these days.

ye pretty sure every time he signed/signs a contract it says he can leave if they don’t get CL. This cat ain’t playing around.

I doubt he did that. He wouldn’t force things like this if he did. He should do that though going forward.

what do you mean, I mean I think this is the siuuu-merchant doing exactly that, I’m sure there is some leeway with letting a club try to find a buyer etc… but we’re just at the mercy of outside twitter dorks trying to make a soap opera out of everything, making it sound like this is some dramatic surprise to everyone involved.

One of the big reasons I like OA is because we’re Team Ronaldo all the way.

Through thick and thin. He even had his own emoji.

Arsenal legend!!

The siu memery is the only thing I’ve ever really appreciated about Ronaldo since he left Madrid

Apparently Ronaldo had also told United they need 5+ top players lol

Reminds me of van Persie back in the day trying to dictate our transfer policy. Bloke reckoned he was the player owner of the fucking football club :joy:

Lovely to see things go full circle at that red manc shit hole. Bathe me in their misery

Erik ten Hag facing such an uphill battle.

That Nizaar guy turning out a right fraud. Didn’t he say Tuchel wasn’t a keen a few hours ago?

Edit:

Well earned downgrade mate.

Well doesn’t the Tweet about it say that they’re not sure if Tuchel will approve?

Can’t imagine Ronaldo at Chelsea, it just doesn’t fit. He’s made two bad career moves in a row now and can’t afford a third.

Makes more sense for Chelsea to take Neymar (linked for a while anyway) and Ronaldo fill his slot at PSG. Two goal monsters feeding off messi’s through balls…surely any fucking manager could make that work.

I think if anything this will push Man Utd to lower their asking fee for a move abroad.

He’ll still be the record all time goal scorer wherever he rocks up and he’s basically won everything the game has to offer. I don’t see how it would affect him one bit to be honest.

:goat: willing to sacrifice his pay to chase his dreams.
Messi would never.

Well I meant in chasing that next CL.

All just my reading of things:

  • He went to Juve thinking he could take them over the line - didn’t work out he got frustrated.
  • He wanted to go to City to be the tap in merchant at the end of their moves and potentially drag them to their first CL. Club pulled out (imo backfired on them, he would’ve fired them to the CL).
  • He ended up at United due to his history and them being in the CL. It was at least a home with a shot in the best competition - didn’t work out and they’re now in EL.

So again he’s looking to move but with limited clubs available for him. I don’t think he’s sat there crying because his career has been unreal but to me it’s clear he’s chasing one more CL (don’t blame him at all) and doesn’t want to play in a second fiddle comp.

Chasing one more CL and probably worried about staying ahead of Messi as all time CL scorer.
