Coronavirus

Which was always going to be the issue with rushing a vaccine. They’ve effectively asked people to take a gamble in the hope that this works and prevents future lockdowns.

It’s done a reasonable job at reducing hospitalisations and deaths but I guess we’re not far from being back to some type of circuit breaker lockdown even here.

Yeah they ditch the rules. Not wearing masks where they should. Not distancing themselves 1,5 meters (another rule over here).

Vaccinated people by large are the cause of our 20k cases a day. Not the 15% who aren’t vaccinated.

Many of them vaccinated for very selfish reasons. Now they see lockdowns are back I am hearing left and right people won’t vaccinate again bla bla bla

So much for “helping” others out. For so many it’s just for selfish reasons.

Either test everyone for entry to places. Or nobody. Only testing unvaccinated people when they constitute 15% of the total population is poor policy. As the rising figures indicate.

Just sounds like you have a bit of an agenda here. Unless you ask every single person you see who is maskless for proof of their vaccination status then you have no idea if it’s only the vaccinated who are not wearing masks.

Likewise you don’t know for sure who is spreading it. I know plenty of vaccinated people who still test regularly for COVID.

Same time we have air travel back and people highlighting how easy to manipulate things and lax in general airlines are.
Coming and going with weak border control will accelerate transmission.

Yeah I have an agenda, highlighting the stupidity of the way the government(s) are handling this all.

It’s about logic here. When 84.7% of the people are vaccinated, yet lockdowns are back, ICUs are increasing and cases are through the roof. Something is off with the way governments told us how vaccination will stop the lockdowns and minimise the cases.

It’s safe to say it’s because of a few issues related to vaccinated people. As I by now have highlighted many times over what those issues are.

When we had 0 vaccinated people a year ago it wasn’t even this bad.

Now I will let you and others on here do the further analysis as why that could be.

Nobody says unvaccinated people don’t spread it. They do, but absolutely without a doubt it’s now the vaccinated people who are spreading it much more so for aforementioned reasons.

Thats fair.

That’s not. As others have pointed out there are flaws in your argument. You’re not the prototype unvaccinated person, the idea that everyone is doing things they way you are is massively misguided. People are selfish, vaccinated or not and there’s no doubt people will fake certs/tests/whatever the fuck if given the opportunity.

Get the feeling government are panicking again and have fully lost the plot lol

In Sweden we are in place 33 of 36 countries in Europe, regarding new cases. We are like 70% vaccinated and hardly anyone wears a mask. People act like the pandemic never existed in the first place. The government are talking about Covid passes but I’m not sure if it will be implemented. Friends who have travelled abroad have not been tested when coming home.
We are a very densely populated country though, if that could be a reason? Especially compared to the Netherlands. I don’t know what to think tbh :man_shrugging:

This is true - as I said, I don’t deny unvaccinated people also spread the virus or fake their tests.

However, it is a game of numbers now. Vaccinated people in The Netherlands account for 84.7% of the total population. Safe to say, they are the majority… by a large margin.

So the misguided way the government imposes rules for unvaccinated people, i.e. they need to test. Whilst vaccinated people don’t need to test, despite being able to carry the virus and spread the virus, is why we are seeing these massive new numbers in infections.

A year ago we had 0 vaccinated people, yet cases weren’t as high as they are now (from the top of my mind we didn’t see 24k cases in a single day before the vaccine and lax rules).

As you said yourself, and I fully agree with that, everyone should test, as that is the only way to stop the spread of the virus. Not having everyone test, the result is the increase in cases not just in The Netherlands, but elsewhere in Europe as well.

That was the case prior to vaccination as well.
2021 saw lot more cases than 2020 before vaccination started happening.

This isn’t necessarily true. If you are vaccinated you can take much more viral load than an unvaccinated person and you can shed the virus at a much larger rate than someone who isn’t vaccinated. Reason being, if ur vaxxed you don’t feel the effects of having the virus most times so you’ve basically turned yourself into a super spreader. An unvaccinated person who contracts the virus will feel the symptoms and stay home.

I do agree testing is the best way to make sure we spread the virus less, but I don’t think that’s the way out of this. The way out of this is to continue to let the virus evolve because it’s getting weaker as it does so. According to the British government, Delta is less deadly than the first few variants of the virus. Covid is pretty much acting like most viruses, as it evolves it becomes easier to catch but not as strong as when it started. Containing it was a massive failure.

Containing it was a massive failure, let it run its cause :white_check_mark:. Australia way behind the game as we know vaccination ain’t the way out as winter lockdowns again are starting to show.

Vaccines seem the only true way out for me, the day is comprehensive as to how this reduces hospitalizations and deaths, especially after second/ third doses. But agree that I do feel we have to live with this now that most are fully vaccinated.

I’m hoping the virus weakens and the vaccines available become more efficient as they are developed

The vaccines certainly need to become more efficient, as it stands it seems to do very little to curtail infection and it seems European countries are about to have another bout of lockdowns over the winter months :sob:.

If you are tested for antibodies and come back positive (for antibodies) I don’t see why vaccination should be required as multiple studies show naturally built immunity is superior to vaccination. In that regard I do think there should be promotion of access to the test for antibodies, but of course there is no Big Pharma related motivation to do so.

(As a tip though for those in the U.S., you can get a free antibody test incorporated if you do a blood donation)

This “protest” escalated quickly and it was more of a reason for young men to riot than to protest anything.

Two guys got wounded by police when they had to shoot with sharp as 100s of mostly men were charging the police.

These people just looking for an excuse to riot and loot and it’s pretty sad.

It’s the selfish people who got vacccinared’s fault.

Facts in the Netherlands are:

0 vaccinated people and cases were around 20k a year ago.

84.7% vaccinated people and we have 24k cases a day.

Selfish it is when you vaccinate to just be able to party and dismiss common sense and consideration for those around you. Yes, many did vaccinate for selfish reasons, some of them are my friends who don’t really care about the vaccine but just did it to be able to hang out and have drinks and party.

If you do the vaccine for your fellow human being to protect them, good on you. Keep social distancing and testing yourself if you carry it or not. Otherwise it’s not for others but just for yourself.

Vaccinating or not should be a choice those who choose not to vaccinate are now being jeopardized by dumb Covid rules from the government where vaccinated people who carry and spread the virus don’t have to test for anything.

I don’t have anything against you or anyone else vaccinating. For all I care you vaccinate yourself for the rest of your life with unlimited booster shots.

I do have something against dumb illogical policy and coercion.
