Coronavirus

They’re not very friendly. Just ignored me and scratched their arses tbh.

Don’t know how trustworthy the WHO are anymore to be honest.

They’re in China’s back pocket.

I think a better way of putting it may be ‘pandering to all countries, no matter how reprehensible so as to keep access and achieve global health goals, for the greater good’.

But you’re right. Unfortunately to an extent they have to be.

I guess, but I still think putting in Traditional Chinese medicine into their international diagnostics handbook was beyond the fucking pale imo

Oh I didn’t know that.

Yeah, what a fucking scam.

I’m glad regular Chinese are seeing past that nonsense CCP propaganda and demand for nonsense is dwindling

And you don’t care about all those other aspects… rather selfish just thinking about your own situation.

I’d say that’s a nice bit of deflection.

But it’s a pretty shit bit of deflection.

Selfish gonna selfish, ugly look I know.

I see you’ve abandoned making sense entirely

L. Nobody ever said that so stop virtue signaling. In fact here in the US it’s been proven u didn’t have to completely lock everything down. We’ve been locked down in California for a year and the results we’ve had here are similar to Florida who’s been open and allowed 30,000 fans at the Super Bowl last weekend ffs. They also have a much older state as far as median age is concerned. Theres been plenty of science to support the idea that these complete lockdowns haven’t helped control the virus at all in fact they only increased the spread as of late because of the fatigue involved with them.

You can’t just pick two different places and say they have the same COVID rates and one is in lockdown one isn’t therefore this shows lockdowns don’t work.

If you want to see if lockdowns work you need to see how the rate changes in each place before and after lockdown to measure whether it is a success or not. The data is clear on this, there is no argument to be had, rates and death rates drop after entering lockdown.

The argument should be if Florida had entered lockdown how much lower would they’re rates have been.

Other studies have oppositely determined that lockdown orders have saved lives.

For instance, a Imperial College London study published in the journal Nature found that some 3.1 million deaths had been averted due to lockdowns across Europe early on in the pandemic. “This data suggests that without any interventions, such as lockdown and school closures, there could have been many more deaths from Covid-19,” said Dr. Samir Bhatt, an author of Imperial College London study.

From the summary page and it also explicitly only refers to lockdowns at the beginning of the outbreak as opposed to once it is rife.

So basically we can all find different studies and data that have different opinions on the matter depending on where you look.

The only thing we do know is lockdowns destroy small business & hammer the large majority of peoples mental health.

My personal opinion is lockdowns do have a benefit to lowering covid numbers, but those lockdowns come at a great cost to other facets mentioned.

The early numbers on covid from ppl like this were way off so I’d take that with a grain of salt.

No lol. The author of this study was also one of the leads of the “great barrington declaration” where they forged sinatures of health experts for backing of their statement on herd immunity which was pretty much denounced the scientific community.

Nope not true at all, have u even read anything about it? There’s a website where ppl were adding fake names all you had to do was provide an email address lmaoo. I’m pretty sure 3 health experts from Harvard, Stanford, and Oxford didn’t forge names like Doctor Johnny Banana on their study about Covid my dood.

But regardless, I’m not advocating for a herd immunity strategy, I’m just saying I don’t believe the lockdowns worked. We had the deadliest month in California immediately after a lockdown, shelter at home order…ppl clearly are fatigued and not listening to the instructions anymore.
