Cobra Kai

It’s been talked about a ton in other threads man and I know because I’ve been part of the conversation. Look at the 4th or 5th post down where my opinion is already being brought up like a year ago

Thing is John Kreese is right, lerusso is the poison, and in real life following his philosophy will lead to failure. If you ain’t looking to get stabbed or bullied or have the shit kicked out of you out here. Then you need to learn to be aggressive and defend your self ruthlessly, “strike first, strike hard” should be the motto of every self defence class. Hollywood loves these phoney underdog type stories where a weaker person using some kind of better moral compass overcomes an antagonist who is willing to do anything.

But also agree with @Castiel like to much teen bop drama. Some girl who clearly wants attention sits outside feeling sorry for herself, cheats on her boyfriend, then starts a riot at school which turns into west side story and ends with some kid getting wrecked :joy::rofl:

I definitely don’t care enough to investigate further. Maybe if it was three cans ago.

I mean if you don’t care why make the argument in the first place. Just because you started watching it the other day doesn’t mean people haven’t been talking about it on and off for the last 3 years.

Also how many other TV shows even have their own stand alone threads on here. Not many.

No offence bros, but you guys living up to the stereotype that Irish people like to fight over anything :joy::rofl: I’m guessing it’s because your both from the next town over

I didn’t say I didn’t care. I siad I didn’t care enough.

No fighting here @BizzySignal just discussion and difference of opinion.

I know just joking with you guys.

I’m actually Northern Irish not Irish, we don’t immediately die out if people hide the potatoes

I thought people from Northern Ireland considered themselves Irish as well though cas?

Gotta sell @Castiel stocks now too.

Only on holiday and when you’re talking to a pretty girl and she says oh your Irish, you’re like yeh, because getting into hundreds of years of geopolitical and sectarian hate is a right boner killer.

Though personally I don’t really mind calling myself British, Northern Irish or Irish. Isn’t really a big deal to me and never has been in my own free mind. I know there’s a lot of people up here who are pretty engrained in one or the other but it’s a bit boring tbh.

And when the pretty girl (or guy, let’s be inclusive here) asks if you’re English, straight up and outright denial!

Not that I personally leave the island much of course. Or talk to strangers.

We’re up to 70 posts now anyway so maybe you had a point.

Sorry GC but this show kinda dumb bro, on season 3 now. Story arcs are pretty ridiculous, and fucking hell is it preachy. Do we really need a life lesson in every scene?

I feel like it could have went down the gritty burnt out road, like a metaphor for what happens to child stars in Hollywood, I feel like that’s what the show wanted to be, then it realized how popular it was and completely betrayed it’s early proof of concept.

Actually just glad to find someone on here who found it as underwhelming as I have because it’s spoken very highly on here. Interesting concept but terrible application.

Pretty sure it was actually a YouTube original production to begin with then it may have been bought out by another company, not entirely sure about that but I do know it was YouTube’s to begin with, might explain the direction it took

Yeah you’re right. I remember seeing it on Yotube a few years back. I thought I would be the only person here to dislike it :joy: I swear you and me basically agree on everything Cas.

This show is weird, it has like Saved by the bell vibes with all the high school stuff, then it tries to mix in some gritty stuff, but then it has really cheesey preachy stuff. Proper identity crisis going on. Not going to lie either some of the kids are fucking annoying, like that “hawk” guy, the guys daughter and that other annoying girl. Then for all the kids they’ve made an opposite “bad” version, it’s so crap man :joy:

I was thinking that too, like Saved by the Bell was exactly what sprung to mind for me. That’s kind if strange actually but perhaps it’s was because of the late 80’s early 90’s homage. I still think this could have been done in a good way but it’s pretty popular so I just have to accept it’s not to my tastes. I do think there was something potentially great there though, something that wasn’t realized.

Just wait till you start liking Arteta bru, it’s game over for you then.

Arteta is basically Daniel LaRusso with less redeeming features.
