I have issue with signing players that don’t even suit the way we play yes
We’re losing Partey and Jorginho for a player that is not like them at all
He lowers the floor of the team and we’ll have to pay more than that offer also.

These kind of statements give me trauma now lol. Have heard it for players like Willian, Sterling etc.
No doubt Norgaard has quietly been consistently good for Brentford. Unsure if this is a depth signing? Pretty sure he replaces Jorginho and Zumbi replaces Partey so when you put it like that; decent signing.
I was hoping we’d go for Lucien Agouma though.
Better option than Jorginho, so not against this.
That’s how I see this.
I’ve seen Norgaard play in person 15-20 times and he’s always stood out as one of the key players that got Brentford to where they are in the PL, along with Mbuemo etc.
He’s going to replace Jorginho and his role in the team.
I’ll be interested to see the contract this fellow gets since offering Partey more than 1 year is unacceptable.
Liverpool signed 31 yr old Endo for cheap midfield options.
So he won’t play at all then, well probably have to pay close to £20m
@Gunnerpr and he barely kicked ball in his tenure, pointless signing in the end. They’re lucky they never had to rely on him
We should keep an eye on Anton Gaaei for a future right-back and Danish signing. He just keeps on improving.
Where are people seeing the salary?
Isn’t €11m fee to Brentford?
If we’re losing Partey and Jorginho the player we should be bringing in should be a younger one with upside that can also obviously play the way we play, things don’t change so much especially if Zubimendi was to get injured.
Not signing Partey should have been prepared for well in advance, Norgaarrd seems like a panic signing and he’s worse than what we’ve had especially stylistically
Talking about leadership and all they jazz is cope, we’ve been here before.
But you also complain about the way we play?
I’m just saying it might be part of their thinking. Not all of it. It’s a complex situation.
lol I saw this rumour the other day and wondered how long it’d take for people to start claiming what a good player he is.
Every player Arsenal gets linked to is suddenly wunderbar.
Losing Jorgi and Partey to get Zubi and Norgaard in return.
Wow.
Endo played a lot in the first season, under Klopp. I was actually amazed how good he was for a relatively unknown player who was already at an advanced age.
So?
I have issue with the way we can’t break teams down, the attack and also the midfield play meaning I want more quality in attack and also a less conservative and rudimentary playing style
Norgaard doesn’t improve upon that or allow us to be less risk adverse
There’s nothing wrong with saying he was a good player for Brentford but that he’d be beyond an underwhelming singing for us, we’re likely losing two of the better progressors of the ball in the PL for someone who is essentially a destroyer
We may have a situation in which we’re having to rely on Rice, Merino and Norgaard in midfield. That is an uninspiring set of midfielders to say the least.
These news have been floating about for a while but I didn’t buy them.
@Bl1nk don’t tell me Indy reported it first.
Not really fussed either way. Keeping Partey was my preference but Norgaard seems like a high floor alternative if he’s asking for too much money or there is some off-field reason to cut the cord.
We’re talking about a backup 6 when we also have Rice and maybe MLS to play there too. It’s not a hugely important role.
Norgaard is Brentford’s captain and a key figure at the club, so it’s not really fair to compare his situation to the likes of Willian or Sterling, who were on the decline when we signed them, the only similarity is their age. He is much more comparable to Jorginho who proved to be a solid signing and was also a big influence in the dressing room.
