Surely this means Partey is off.
Replacing a 32 year old who’s set in the team with a 31 year old(of lower quality) just because you don’t wanna increase the wages a bit and will probably ultimately end up paying more. Not very wise now, is it…
Partey is definitely gone if there’s any truth to this link.
He’s been amazing for Brentford and a key part of their success, but this is not what I had my hopes on while pining for a Danish player at Arsenal.
Go for Damsgaard instead as back up to Odegaard.
So much for that poo meter
Fabrizio confirming it too. Now just waiting for Kaila.
He’ll be a Jorginho type signing.
Hopefully it can be concluded swiftly. He’s been a great servant for Brentford so they might allow him this great opportunity at an acceptable fee.
So we’re signing a lesser player than Partey for potentially €11m + wages? Wouldn’t it just be cheaper to give Partey another 2 years on the wages he wants?
I think the risk factor of off field matters with Partey might be informing Arsenal’s thinking here.
The meltdowns from this signing will be incredible
As a rotation? Why not.
Absolutely.
Financially, it makes no sense to let him go.
Let alone for football reasons.
Yeah I’m not against it. We’re gonna need the bodies when we make it to 3 finals.
He’s not even the same profile of player
This is really weird for a supposed top club
Liverpool and City aren’t making this type of signing
Norgaard may not be the flashiest name, but he’s quietly been one of the top defensive midfielders in the Premier League over the past few seasons. He’s also a natural leader and a great role model for younger players. If we manage to pull this off, I’d be absolutely delighted.
Is it though? Signing a decent backup for a position we have covered in terms of starters.
You’re always complaining about overusing players but have an issue with depth signings as well?
But then why would Arsenal offer Partey a contract extension in the first place?
