Chelsea

The one thing Chelsea’s new ownership is unquestionably good at is public relations. They feed so much utter horse shit to journalists who clearly just repeat it verbatim in order to maintain access.

I can never understand the unwavering support of Simon Jordan towards Todd Boehly on Talksports.

Well Jordan knows how to bring a club into administration so hopefully that’s a fate awaiting those pricks too.

It’s even bigger mess than it looks from outside

Damm rules preventing them from actually training all their players together.

The fact that he has to mention ‘its not a mess’ you damn well know it is a steaming fresh turd of a dumpster fire over there.

I love that he has to say “the other 15-20” players like he has no idea the number and is just guessing.

Apparently they gave Sterling’s #7 to Neto…

“They can even have 20 years contract, it’s not my point. I don’t care”.

Maresca showing he has no respect for the club and is only there for the money. :grinning:

His playing career was shit his managerial career was underwhelming and he only got the Chelsea job cos of his Pep connections, i predict an early sacking and Leicester to go straight down.

Chelsea are proud of the fact that the 42 players they have in their first-team pool

“I am not working with 42 players. I am working with 21 players”.

Can’t even keep their story straight between club and coach. This’ll go swimmingly.

Fuck it I’ll take a punt on Sterling

What is the player’s union doing about this?
You cannot decide the fate of players in the squad on day 1, especially when there is no clear world-class player in their team.

Players evolve during the season, and the likes of Trossard will prove they are more productive than the likes of Martinelli, which can be reversed this season. Only playing time in matches and training sessions can allow this.

If the coach is on record suggesting that he & his staff are treating the players differently and any chance of the players proving themselves is taken away because the club doesn’t register them for the PL season, then they are effectively killing a season’s worth of their development and potentially causing long term damage to their career.

The player’s union should look at this and take action against Chelsea for purposely creating a situation where they are causing financial loss for these players.

I doubt the players union can do anything about the matter.

But players and agents will take notice and adjust behavior accordingly in the future. Who in their right mind wants to sign with Chelsea if they have a roughly equivalent option from another big club? I think we’re already seeing a bit of that this summer. The only player they signed that might have had any real competition was Neto, and in that case the competition was Spurs and Levy was lowballing Wolves per usual. Meanwhile they clearly lost out on Olise, were quickly dismissed by Sesko, apparently made a late stab to hijack Calafiori but were turned down, and who knows what else.

Agree with your points but not sure this is the strongest argument given you register players. Honestly it’s weird players keep joining them in the knowledge that they likely could be fucked within a season.

It’s amazing that Chelsea have spent over a billion on players yet still haven’t got a decent striker.

When you’re offering those stupid contracts, it’s not a surprise that you can find players willing to take it up.
