Chelsea

He is not super overrated. He is a very very good right back. Very well rounded game and absolutely perfect for the modern game.

You can’t name many better right backs than him when he’s fit.

That’s what makes him overrated imo. He’s made of jello.

Fofana injured again! Him and James competing for which young defender can be crocked worse.

How does fitness or lack thereof make someone overrated? lol

Just take the L on that one

Reece James sits perfectly in between the modern fullback profile (Trent, Cancelo etc.) and the traditional fullback. It means he’s a very good 1v1 defender, fantastic engine, very good delivery but still can get highly involved in possession based build-up play.

He’s a top class footballer. He’s the natural successor to Walker at RB for England.

For the record, Walker has been a sensational fullback for years now. One of the best in his position ever since being signed by Pep.

This is true.

Still a cunt, mind you.

Terrible signing

Terrible signing but also terrible luck for Fofana. He seems to have an Abou Diaby/Phil Jones/Jack Wilshere kind of body.

How can that injury not affect Chalobah moving though? All they’ve got otherwise is Badiashile (also currently injured, although not seriously), Colwill (bright prospect but has played like 15 PL games in his life), and a 38-year-old Thiago Silva.

Chelsea burned on that 7 year contract big time

They can have Holding for 75 mil.

And here’s the info

Who exactly sanctioned that purchase?
Got found out in the end of his first season without Evans holding his hand, like he did with Soyuncu. Suffered that horrendous injury, came back looking far from his best and Chelsea casually decided to pay £75m for him. Madness.

I never saw it with him anyway. Might as well of renewed Rudiger’s contract at what he was asking if this was their big idea.

Edu needs to put up a BBQ this weekend, invite Boehly and tell him Holding is 5 times the player Fofana is. With Boehly, you never know if it might work.

Their squad looks dead. Crazy to think 2 years ago they were seen as the closest team to City after they won the CL.

Lukaku was seen as the difference maker, especially with City missing out on Kane. Tbf, they did lead the table till around November and then everything went to shit and it kept getting worse and worse(Lukaku interview, Abramovich being sanctioned, etc.)

We’ll see if this project youth works out for them. Think Arteta and Edu made it look too easy.
Southampton is a good example of how it can go really bad.

Is that their squad? It looks like poverty.

James, Silva, Nkunku and Sterling, the rest are trash :grimacing:

They need to spend 500m more atleast to even be considered af chance for the top4 next season.

They tried that last season and had their lowest finish in the PL.

Perhaps they should try spending less. :grinning:

Hiring Vivell, Stewart, and Winstanley to be technical directors feels a little like our Sven, Raul, Gazidis experiment. A lot of ways for it to go wrong when you unclear accountabilities and powers and the people don’t necessarily have a working history together.

From the outside, it looks like Winstanley and Stewart successfully muscled Vivell out of the picture, maybe starting with the failed hire of Nagelsmann.
