Perhaps he was the most hyped but not sure how he can be the biggest talent to ever come out of the academy if said talent doesn’t translate at the top level

I’m gonna be controversial, brave and bold, and say that I think that Peter Osgood, Jimmy Greaves and John Terry are bigger talents than Callum Hudson-Odoi.
I don’t think he is saying CHO is the best footballer to come out of the academy. More that he had the most potential.
I don’t think there is anything wrong in what is being said. There are plenty of youngsters who get touted as next best thing and then it doesn’t transpire.

It is clear what he meant, people just disagree because he just isn’t as talented as quite a few other Chelsea academy graduates.
Chelsea bit of unknown quantity this season with all the turnover in their squad. Pretty much a brand new team that could go either way…let’s hope it’s more of the same of last season.

Lost a few senior players since January. Big characters on and off the pitch. Will be interesting to see how this new squad responds if they have a bad start.

Chelsea still doesn’t have a shirt sponsor and is reportedly desperately offering it around now for 25m per season, which is far less than other big six clubs. Our deal with Emirates, negotiated in 2018, is 40m and expires at the end of next season and I’m sure we’ll be looking for a substantial increase. Other big English clubs are in the 50m range.
Part of this is Chelsea just screwing things up as the PL blocked a potential deal with Paramount+ due to it infringing on agreements with league broadcasters. But I think it also speaks to the fundamental weakness of Chelsea’s brand. Their whole brand appeal was really built on being Roman’s swaggering all-conquering winners and with that in the past what is really their story that makes them an attractive club that big established companies want to associate their own brand with? They don’t have the history and passionate support base of United, Liverpool, or Arsenal, and City have completely supplanted them as the winners-without-history club.

Super overrated. Only ever seen him play once decent game. (It happened to be the CL Final, so I guess he was able to bring it on a big occasion.)
