Chelsea

Would like to have shared this on Twitter but some strange reason im blocked from seeing his tweets lol

No idea why, never even heard of the fella

That’s erm…that’s quite revealing. All the reports of Potter’s job being safe and it being a long term appointment has evaporated. Hopefully some journalists asks Potter his thoughts on these developments

Pochettino back to Tottenham?

Same

Approaching Pochettino before Luis Enrique seems suspect. But maybe that’s just me.

Hard to believe Poch would turn down Chelsea, unless he already has a deal agreed to return to Spurs in a few months. That wouldn’t be surprising, especially given Conte’s health.

If you need quick cash and planning to find a new job within a year or two range… being the manager of Chelsea is the right job.

no owner should be allowed to own 100% of 2 clubs, all Chelsea loanees will go there now

and people are gonna say these owners have been vetted :arteta3:

Is Potter capable of turning it around!?

He really lacks the stature or standing to implement his ideas to this squad

Well, whatever he lacks at Chelsea I’m sure he’s doing his best. But nobody deserves the sort of vitriol he’s being subjected to. Disgusting behaviour from so-called ā€˜fans’.

He really couldn’t have picked a worse team to make the step up with. Now I’m no fan of him or Lamps but young managers need to look at Chelsea and weigh the horrendous risk with the monetary benifits.

I can’t think of a worse job in the league right now.

Go there when you’re established, satisfied and looking for a fat severance. Not even you’re up so coming.

It’s hard to turn Chelsea down.

It’s like girls who go after a ā€œbad boyā€ (aka a bellend) because they reckon they’re the ones who will finally tame him. Nah blud, he’ll shag your best mate, get you pregnant and disappear.

A young ambitious manager will always look at Chelsea and think I’ll build a dynasty and stay there for 5+ years. But they’re just not a club that is built for long term success. Their short term hire and fire model has (miraculously) worked very well for them.

It’s stupid that young managers will keep going there to die, but money and ambition will do that to you.

Chelsea and Potter have fooled one another and both paying the price.

You don’t show trust in your manager just by not sacking him, but including his ideas in recruiting players, which I am certain is not the case here.

Potter and Chelsea were obviously never suited to each other.

He is a manager who carefully selects players to play his style of football and takes more than a season to implement ideas.

While Chelsea is a club that wants instant success and will spend whatever it takes to get it.

Potter is better off out of it but at least he will have earned a few million and there will be plenty of clubs, like West Ham, who will be after him when he leaves.

This feels like a massive twitter myth, Brighton’s recruitment was genuinely some of the best in the league and Potter benefited from that as much as anyone.

He apparently went out of his way to greenlight and get Mudryk to the club and now he seems like he can’t wait to sub the kid off fast enough.

He really built up this aura at Brighton of being something more than he actually was and it’s a shame for him that he toppled that house of cards by going to Chelsea. If he fails here he’s set his career back 3-5 years

Part of managing a big club is dealing with the high pressure environment and expectations that come with it

Brighton fans didn’t expect much, and Brighton aren’t expected to do much so if he finishes 10th with Brighton it’s job well done.

Chelsea are a club that relentlessly pursues success. They have hired and fired some of the greatest managers of the last 15-20 years and ruthlessly done so too.

Potter didn’t have what it takes to deal with the pressure and after a few months he’s already talking about his mental health and stuff like that. You can’t excuse 2 wins in 14 games even if you want to question their recruitment.

He’s a decent manager but think it’s clear his level lies a little outside what he’s tried to go for here. Chelsea need a manager who can handle a big set of personalities and the pressure that comes with that. Potter isn’t and won’t ever be the one for them

I copped some grief early on for saying he lacked a degree of personality.
I’ll die on the hill that says this isn’t a factor here. You have to impose that when you have no cv with top players very quickly.
His interviews and most of his comments just go under the radar because of lack of projection of himself.
