Reckon a Conte or a Mourinho would simply pick 25-30 players that will be counted on going forward and the rest would train away from the team.

Ehhh. If they’re all in tears or huddled around him looking shell shocked they’ll get criticized for not focusing on the match. No right way to handle seeing a teammate suffer a horrible injury.

Staying out the way of the medical people and just trying to distract themselves and gain some focus and keep warm.

I actually wondered if the medical folks told them to get away from the area. Head injuries are serious enough as it is, you don’t need a bunch of people gumming up the space.
