Cesc Fabregas

I do think Walcott’s finishing is a lot better than Martinelli’s, mind you.

It was Henry-esque at times.

So is Martinellis. Neither on anything resembling a consistent basis.

Is it though. He was never consistent at it.

“At times”, Rocky

If you put Martinelli and Walcott through on goal, I’d wager Walcott to score more so than Martinelli.

I believe Wright was the most superior at this from the Arsenal strikers I’ve seen in my lifetime.

For now you’re right. But I don’t think it’ll take much from Martinelli to surpass that in my estimation. (Hopefully he does)

There’s definitely a lot of revisionism about how good Song really was, glad OA ain’t fooled.

He was a very good defensive midfielder for us but once he started being involved more going forward he became a liability defensively. Mind you, most of his highlights are from that period.

We actually became a better team when Arteta took his spot. Nobody missed Song when he was gone.

Partey is not only a progressive monster but he is also great defensively too.
He is superior to Song in every department bar staying fit(at least at Arsenal).

Am I the only one who can see the brackets?? :joy:

Is this the same Arteta in his spot when we were being thrashed by every decent side and getting overrun in midfield?

Yes, but this is 2010 Walcott. Wasn’t he a beast for us t during that season?

Sagna from 2010 edges him out for me. Much better crosser of the ball than Ben White.

Remember him being dubbed on these parts as Mr. Consistent.

2010/11 season Walcott was not half the player of Martinelli in 2022/23…

The way i remember it his inability to cross the ball was the biggest complaint people had about him.

What were those thrashings buddy?
A game at Anfield and Wenger’s 1000th game?

That’s all in 5 years he was here?

Is this about Sagna? I never understood that complaint, his crosses were unreal at times.

Maybe it was a lack of consistency, can’t really recall now but always thought his crossing ability was good, although I do remember it being a complaint from many.

Perhaps, but 16 GAs in 28 EPL appearances is a strong return. 22 G/As in all comps that season for Walcott…

Yea i couldn’t say for sure myself either at this stage, its going back a good few years now but i do remember consistently backing him because he was an excellent defender and the going forward bit was always a bonus in my eyes.

I think you’re right actually. Just saw an article that Sagna was amongst the worst crossers in the league in 2012. Perhaps his form dropped massively since 2010.

Who would’ve thought, even Fabregas doesn’t rate Aguero.

Respect :chart_with_upwards_trend:

Doesn’t suggest that at all tbh. Rooney and Deco weren’t bums.
