Cesc Fabregas

He did but he was more prominent of a figure while languishing in 4th with us.

He didn’t. He won six “tittles”

Cesc started a lot at Barca it is just he wasn’t used in his ideal position due to all the talent in that position.

Cesc should have stayed at Arsenal and become a legend !? Shame he left for FCB but can’t be blamed for that, glad Arsene didn’t welcome him back.

Honestly, when I look back at players like Van Persie, Cesc and Nasri I understand why they left and agree it was the right thing for their respective careers.

The way they each left kind of bothers me but even with that you have to ask yourself what would have been a good way to leave?

The fans slagged them off because they still had allot they could have contributed. If they had turned into bums like Kolasinac, Mustafi, Xhaka, etc. we’d slag them off for not leaving.

They were very good players but it’s a shame that, apart from Flamini, they were often injured.
So I doubt there were many games where we saw all of them playing together in the same team.

Hleb was basically never injured at Arsenal, also can’t say Cesc was tham much injured. We saw plenty of Flamini, Cesc and Hleb together on the pitch.

What you said there counts mostly for Rosicky. And yeah, it’s a shame we didn’t get to see more of him together with Cesc and Hleb.

It’s a shame we didn’t have Hleb for longer. I wonder if he ever regrets leaving.

The problem was RVP was always injured and we had to rely on a sub par stand in

Surely you’re not referring to Lord of Lords Nicklas the Great!?

One of the reason I can’t hate Eboue too much. He did a good job in Rosicky’s absence.

One full season together producing the best football we’ve seen since the Invincibles and the best title challenge we’ve put in since. Nothing we’ve had after has come close.

Fuck the FA Cup wins in comparison to the quality team we had in 07-08.

I think the argument is we ought to have been having constant seasons like 07/08. As you say, that’s the closest we’ve been to winning the league in 18 years. Pathetic when you think about it.

There isn’t any reason we shouldn’t always have finished a very close third to two clubs who were throwing money at the league every single season until Man City and Liverfools began throwing money at it themselves.

In the end, if you’re not going to challenge, if you’re not going to compete on the pitch, you’re going to look wistfully back at one season out of 20 barren ones (which is what we’re doing now)

If you can’t look back positively at certain seasons when trophies aren’t won then it must be a very sad existence for 99% of clubs. Of course there’s a sense of regret at not ending up with trophies but you should still be able to say you know what we were pretty fucking good that season.

Yeah, one season out of 20

Yeah it’s a damn shame. 2008 still pisses me off.
