Bukayo Saka (7)

However bad he’s perceived to play in general gameplay, he setup the opening goal in the last game.

He was on the bench for the previous 2, and then in one of the 2 games prior to that he got the assist for the only goal of the game.

In a team struggling to score we keep benching a player that does provide end product because he’s frustrating to watch.

His 100th game for Arsenal today. That was fast.

These last 3 or 4 minutes are where this kid kills me, few minutes left and a clean sheet gets all the points. Won’t track and close down to save his fucking life. Good call taking him off

I thought he had a pretty good game today, took the game on and looked dangerous beating his man off the dribble again.

Agreed. His delivery wasn’t bad either.
Not a great game but I think he was good. ESR was the same goal aside.

Just the match winning goal and 3 big points separating the two performances then lol

Sure, not trying to discredit Emile here. That was a good goal but I don’t think Emile was overall great or anything.
It’s actually to his credit that this is becoming a norm now for him.

Well, he won’t have to. His contract comes up in 2024 right? I assume Newcastle will be at a good spot by then to snatch him up? They could offer him a massive signing bonus.

Context: Bukayo’s dad is a massive Newcastle fan and as a result Bukayo supported them when he was young.

Try all you want… You simply can’t

Yeah the end of the 23/24 season will be 1 season after Newcastle’s promotion to the EPL, let’s see how well placed they’re.

For now Bukayo needs to focus on better consistency and productivity, 1G / 2A through 11 league games isn’t a great return for someone aspiring to be a starter in a top side.

I really liked his performance today. Kept causing Newcastle problems.

What was up with the Ozil celebration?

He’s honestly better on the left. He’s very predictable on the right.
Always cuts to his left and takes too much time doing that.

He’s got a good right foot which he should use more but he rarely does nowadays.

I believe at the end of this season Saka will have 2yrs left on his contract. Seeing the direction we’re going in it’s probably a matter of time before someone snatches him from us.

Crazy that he’s only making 1.56 million a year on his current contract. A mix of allot of money spent on other transfers that Arsenal need to recoup, playing in a shit team and making peanuts all point to the kid going elsewhere.

Sad to say.

2 years + the option of 1 year I’d imagine. Arsenal have started to structure contracts like that so it would surprise me if Saka didn’t have such a clause.

Is the option for Arsenal to extend? Even still, I think we’ll be forced to sell just based on all the bad business and shit on-field performance. We let scrubs run down their contracts or renew them just to end up selling our most prized assets.

Typically it’s a clause that can be triggered by either the club or the player.
