Bukayo Saka (7)

Chamberlain is another who seemingly either didn’t progress or went backwards

Although Saka seems to have intelligence alongside raw talent

That’s what they said about Iwobi

Iwobi is intelligent, he’s just not that talented, Saka maybe

Funny how perceptions differ because I always saw it the other way round.

But yes, either way wasn’t good enough.

Yes you’re probably right that I’m building Saka up too much too early although I think he looks a mile better than Denilson and Vela starts. Unfortunately based on how we’ve been playing this season there isn’t much to be optimistic about so I’m probably leaping on one of the rays of sunshine.

Pepe has been hugely disappointing to date, the coach hasn’t got the team playing any better with seemingly a worse defence than ever so far. Same old inconsistent, overpaid mistake boys at the club eg Xhaka. So Saka is a real bright spot so far.

But yes agreed, time will prove either way and I hope I’m wrong on Pepe - and that Saka turns into a super star at least of the standard of what Sterling does as a wide player for City these days.

Hopefully with a bit of luck he turns out to be as good as Serge Gnabry without us selling him for 5 million quid.

Playing better than Pepe atm great for the lad. Played like a legend away at old Trafford what a great kid! Hopefully it’s not just a short stint of form.
Pepe needs to step up quick if he’s gunna justify 72m he was poor at United.

English wunderkinds get fat and happy once they make a first team at a big club. You gotta be a fucking cunt like Wayne Rooney or Michael Owen to overcome the babying and ball fluffing that a young hot prospect gets these days.

Wide forwards with as much potency in front of goal as Gnabry don’t come along often. We can’t really hope for that but hopefully he’s little Leroycito to Gnabry’s Sterling.

Saka is already offering more at this age than Gnabry ever did back then. Immediate win win here lads.

We don’t half overrate this kid.

It was a pen tbf

It wasn’t a pen but it wasn’t a booking. Kids not in this and made poor choices all half.
He looks exactly like Iwobi out there.

Thought on replay the right decision was no pen but also no booking… Mike Dean is gonna Mike Dean.

Can’t judge too hard, he’s been too long without Freddie.

I think he’s done great overall this season but needs taking out the team now maybe to accommodate Lacazette.

Can’t rely on any consistency from him given the age. Ditto Willock who definitely needs a spell out the side.

That said the clipped ball to Ceballos was cute, one of our two decent chances in the whole 90

Really isnt his fault

2-3 more games like this and watch the confidence go down.

Should not have been burdened with so much resposibility this early. Coach is clueless anyway.

Hope Saka comes good

Only not his fault from the point of view he’s not good enough right now maybe. Really should be Europa or cups. Don’t see the fuss in him or Willock tbh.

I rate them more then you do Stroller, you shouldn’t be that quick to write off young players. Remember Sterling took years to become the player he was. I think they should be used in Cup and Europa league games, and the odd PL if needed. The style of formation doesn’t suit him or Pepe, you can’t knock the lads heart and I think we have a gem on our hands with both him and Willock but they aren’t going to grow under Emery imo.
