The problem with him now is that even when he does return he’s going to be working his way back to fitness. So he won’t be much use to us immediately anyway.
It’s such a shame we’ve had to contend with him and Odegaard having so many injuries these last two seasons.
How on earth were we playing him if his condition is this bad? So essentially, if Tuchel and his team did not intervene, Saka would have been playing games for Arsenal. This is bonkers.
I’m not patriotic. Arsenal comes first, then if the national team for my birthplace does okay, great. But I’ll only watch the WC games involving Arsenal players.
So I couldn’t be happier if Saka is left at home to prepare and be ready for pre-season training.
I don’t think we’ll be doing it again next season if we fail here. The players are fucked, there’s no rest over the summer and it’s been 3 years plus of this. We will fall off next season.
I understand your point but with Liverpool in transition and Chelsea being Chelsea, it will be between City, us and maybe United.
Unless City run away with it, we will likely be in the mix. This is assuming Pep stays. If he leaves, then we could be the favourites, however bizzare that sounds.
But to @Calum 's point, I think most of us are in that boat.
I think you only have to look at Liverpool this season to see that there’s absolutely no security at the top end of the table. I think a big disappointment for us this season especially (or possibly regardless of whether we succeed or not) could lead us into a campaign next season that’s more about hanging on to Champions League football.
Hopefully tis true and he’s back for Saturday. Would rather he come off the bench though instead of just being thrown into the starting lineup, just in case.
But it’s the output that we desperately need, not Saka’s presence.
The whole reason why our attack has been struggling is because they are not building on their outputs.
The low amount of goals our attackers have scored and low average of line break passes from midfielders has been extremely poor, probably on par to PL clubs in bottom half of table and below.
