Bukayo Saka (7)

They will burnout, in Saka’s case playing all these games since his teens especially in the PL will catch up to him.

Bellingham has questionable stamina as it is

The tweet puts it the ‘trend’ on the clubs, while it is ultimately their decision, I don’t think we should ignore fan demands and ‘analytics’ and spreadsheet pushers for younger players to be signed and thus be played.

Even during this window we had some fans ask for more young players to be signed even though our team is plenty young already.

Yeah, I agree to some degree with that one.

The sport science is improving all the time, but still I think it takes a bit of time for the body to mature and be ready for almost two games a week, all season…

Not everyone is a CR7 freak who was a naturally great athlete but also worked like mad to keep himself in shape from an early age.

In the end the biggest decision is on the managers themselves. They can listen to the physios, the coaches, the data etc but they have to take all that with a pinch of salt and have some common sense.

Btw…
I’m not sure Ronaldinho was a great example to take there. It’s not that he had great longevity… :partey:
Obviously it wasn’t fitness related but still.

The astronomical transfer fees of players have led clubs to largely pursue young talent now rather than established ones and that has a knock on effect because clubs start to rely heavily on kids.

It’s just the game and how it is now.

Was he drunk?

My guess is that he doesn’t really watch football much and he’s caught the odd Arsenal and off City game and just likes the way Doku plays more.

Nobody who frequently watches football would say Doku is close to being better than Saka.

The quotes are probably cherry picked but it’s so incoherent. Doku doesn’t even fucking score at all lol. Who’s the inconsistent one here?

Doku is more spontaneous but he has not shown any consistency yet.

does it matter?

Maybe to some considering it’s one of the main players from the greatest Arsenal team of all time saying it.

If I were Bukayo I’d feel some kind of way.

Doku is really good but Saka is much more well rounded it aint even close

Pep’s kidnapped Pires and he’s being to say this, that’s what happens when you visit the dark side of Manchester

Pires with the unexpected heel turn.

Majority of the retired players that are not actively involved in either coaching or punditry do not really watch football at the rate fans do.

Sure, they may catch a game here and there but that’s it. It’s why they come up with these shocking takes.

I saw a video of Makelele rank some players the other day and he was all over the place.

Rare Bobby fail

Saka’s consistency has been legendary, he’s good even when he’s bad ffs

I’m no longer surprised by a good deal of some of the greatest players in their respective positions not having a clue either talking absolute bollocks in their punditry, not really having a clue regarding tactics, not being able to coach for shit or generally sounding idiotic with awful hot takes.

Scholes compared Mainoo to Zidane some weeks ago which is hilarious

When you take some of these guys out of the bubble of their own successful careers it’s evident that they have no better understanding or view of the game than your average Joe which is perhaps why many of them will never amount to much on the coaching side.

I’m still astonished Saka gets this kind of abuse in 2024. I hope he gets some sort of “mental protection” or insulation from all this.

Must have cried about discrimination himself at some point in his life.

Either that or, hopefully, he’s developed a thick skin against this kind of crap. A shame that that’s still necessary in these supposedly enlightened times, but here we are.
