Bret Hart Was Quite Good

The Cena revisionism is crazy to me. He was derided during his prime years for his limited skill set and same rubbish superman comeback matches.

Now all of a sudden he’s the greatest of all time

Never forgiven him for 2011

I’ve always liked him without thinking he was great. When I got into WWE as a kid, the character that kept me coming back was Ultimate Warrior.

As an adult, I can see he was a really limited performer in the ring. But the character was amazing for a kid in the early 90s. I’ve always understood as an older fan that some characters are just not for me and that’s fine because you need characters that kids can enjoy and get into the product with and that’s what Cena was.

I never thought he was bad in the ring, and certainly not as bad as his biggest critics made out. He’s had too many good matches to be a bad wrestler. Also, I know not everyone will care about this, but the charity work with terminally ill kids is something I really respect and makes him worthy of his spotlight.

This farewell tour has just been terribly written though. I just want it over.

Don’t think too much about it.
It’s classic WWE propaganda, and was hand-picked by Vince himself. Vince used to call him the Babe Ruth of WWE. They started calling him GOAT a few years while Vince was still around.
It makes sense, Cena is Vince’s greatest soldier if you think about.

Some here will also remember WWE advertising(yes, ahead of time) Randy v Edge back in 2020 as the greatest wrestling match ever.

Btw, it doesn’t sound like he’s got many fans in here but SNME will be live on YouTube today.

Definitely in the top 5 worst matches I’ve been to. Probably second only to when that boring cunt Owen fucked us in the FA Cup final.

Personally, the worst thing about Birmingham one wasn’t that it meant our trophyless run continued, it was that I had to go up to Leamington Spa on the train after leaving Wembley :sob:

Man, every time I see him he ages 5 more years. His body is f’ed up.

SNME is now live streaming on WWE’s YouTube channel.
Event lasts 2 hours but there will be a post show they can use as well in case they go over with celebrations and stuff.

Excellent match. Really ushered in and set the scene for one of the best years of wrestling thereafter.

Remember loving this match at the time, the good ol days of going into school and talking to the few fellow cool people who watched wrestling.

Has anyone seen the Cena event this morning?

I dont think they were impressed :henry2:

Certainly made for an awkward ending. Maybe the execution wasn’t great but the outcome was.

I don’t really understand all the crashing out tbh. He was ALWAYS gonna lose the final match, specially against Gunther lol.

Internet wrestling community has always been full of dramatic nerds

Yeah they’re an embarrassing bunch lol

Is it because Cena tapped rather than the completely overplayed “passed out in the hold” finish?

I think it’s really fitting for this shit run lol. Of course it involves HHH who punked out Sting in that disgrace of a match.

I’m so glad he’s being booed again and people are criticising his shit booking.
