Bret Hart Was Quite Good

It’s weird they didn’t have an actual program for his last match. Why do the tournament thing for weeks when you could have just built Cena Vs Gunther?

I saw Gunther tried to sell the whole “I’m going to make the man that never gives up give up” but he barely had time to with the TV time that there was between him winning that tournament and the match itself. Like, if you’re going to go that way then tell the story properly.

As for Cena losing, he was always going to. That’s always the way with retirement matches and he was brought into the business around loads of guys who thought that way.

Brother you’re trying to insert logical and sensible booking and that doesn’t work for TKO product

I didn’t see much of attitude era unfortunately but it’s the PG era where I consistently started watching and Cena was one of the standout entertainers during the PG era.

As a product he was elite. His gimmick did not always stay the same, with time, it changed, adapted accordingly and he excelled in it. His skills on the mic was unbelievably natural for him.

However, as a person he was even better. Make a wish record, a man of principles, in an era where it’s so easy to get cancelled, he really was good. A role model for the kids, and for the adults he’s left a core childhood memory they will cherish. A smart man, and incredible human being.

I saw Cena vs Gunther.

I have the point out the irony the one time the crowd would’ve been happy with a Super Cena win they didn’t get it :joy: what a shambles.

I have to point out. FU from the top rope doesn’t finish off a guy again  Why is wrestling like this.

Good work, Mick.

Good lad. Apparently they were working really hard to get that orange prick on SNME last weekend.

Now I’m not saying this was his best theme/entrance but it’s definitely in the top one isn’t it :pires2:

Meanwhile Bruce Prichard: “Once you hear Jim Johnston enough, everything sounds like Bam Bam’s theme”

The Royal Rumble is everyone’s annual reminder of how bad def rebel are.

Almost every entrant: “what? Who’s music is that?”

Just googled them. They’re the culprits for these boring repetitive theme songs now.

Jim Johnstone will always be the :goat:

Question for everyone:

Worst royal rumble winner ever?

Worst WrestleMania main event?

Alberto Del Rio or Sheamus. Take your pick. Overpushed. Boring. Channel changers.

Del Rio is great shout. And it was 40 man Royal Rumble ffs.
As for worst WM main event, I honestly think the one earlier this year is a true candidate for it.

Yeah I’m in agreement with this years being the worst ever.

I forgot Del Rio won a rumble. That’s got to take the top spot on that list. Dishonourable mentions to:

  • Rey Mysterio winning it from the number 2 spot
  • Sheamus
  • Nakamura without following through on it.

Worst Mania main event for me is The Miz Vs John Cena. Having the Wrestlemania main event serve as a TV match to set up the next year’s Mania is diabolical.

Dishonourable mentions:

  • Wrestlemania 9 - Fuck off, Hogan.
  • Whatever the fuck that was at Wrestlemania 11 with Bam Bam. I might have put that top except I didn’t watch it at the time.
  • The fatal 4 way at 16. For not being the match they ended up having at Backlash anyway.
  • 29 (Rock Vs Cena) because doing once in a lifetime twice in two years is stupid, and Punk really deserved that title reign to end at Mania.
  • 32 - Triple H Vs Roman Reigns. I was really annoyed by how shit this was because I actually enjoyed the feud that led to it.
  • 33 - Taker Vs Reigns - Taker shouldn’t have been in the ring and what should have been his send-off was just depressing.
  • 34 - Reigns Vs Lesnar - Easily the worst of their seven thousand PPV matches.
  • Both Main events at this year’s Mania. Absolutely abysmal. Night 1 for the overbooking and Night 2 for literally everything.

Yes this wins it. What a good call, just remembered this now. What a DEAD match. Didn’t it end in a double count out? :joy: Then they sent out The Rock to ‘try’ save it to setup next year’s Wrestlemania. Fitting for the borefest that was Miz’s run. Money in the bank doing fuck all to build people as per usual.

Double count out and then the Rock came out and overruled the laptop that was general manager at the time. It was literally an average ending to an episode of Raw.

The Miz main eventing Mania was a travesty
