Bret Hart Was Quite Good

Yeah the end of the 4 way caught me by surprise! In a good way. It’s good to see Stat finally get a run.

I loved the three way too. Takeshita is one of my favorites in the world right now.

Aww I really like Briscoe! After the MJF stuff id have quite liked a very quick program with Hangman. But do agree he’s not exactly a technical wizard so are far better options for Hangman to face haha.

One of the best performers of his generation.

I love that match and that feud in general. It made the title feel so important and I don’t feel like it always did in the early 2000s.

Face Kurt in 2001 was amazing. It was such a bad move to take the title off him only a couple of weeks later and an even worse move to turn him heel after that.

Well…

Look forward to his return to WWE in 2027! Haha

Not sure who’s been keeping up but I’m starting to feel that WWE might be positioning Orton to be Cody’s opponent at Wrestlemania.

I am scared of what this means about Punk. I hope to god they’re not planning to stretch this feud with Rollins till then. They really ought to wrap that up ASAP.

Product has become so disinteresting. Don’t even keep up with it anymore.

Orton? Come on lol.

Cena and now Orton. Who’s next Batista?

I get it. I mainly tune in to watch Punk and might run into other stuff along the way.

Aside that, if anything big happens it’ll probably make its way to me through IG or Twitter.

Unfortunately, I think the shows have lacked clear direction since Mania.

The Cena reign has felt like a fucking waste. I thought they were going somewhere with that Lesnar thing but it seems like that was indeed a one-off which leaves me baffled.
Cena casually brushed off getting squashed and will now have a showcase match with AJ. :man_shrugging:

Rollins v Punk has been the most consistent thing going story wise but despite some good stuff here and there, it’s been a rather underwhelming feud overall, one that leaves you desperate for them to wrap it up already.

I expected a couple of nostalgia matches on this retirement tour but Cena has pretty much only wrestled his old mates.

What’s the point? He had better matches with all of them a decade or more ago. Why not some new opponents?

Tbf, there is a story there.

A bigger story than with Cena, Punk and Batista(lol). Lesnar too.

I was surprised when they decided to run it first in Saudi recently. They did plant seeds for a follow up though.
I think Orton is turning on Cody within the next year.

Yeah, in hindsight this final Cena year has gone botched and I doubt there’s enough time to save it.

I don’t think anyone will be looking back at this year with much appreciation.

This is his final year:

  • Lost the Rumble to Jey Uso
  • Big heel turn at Elimination Chamber with awful follow up from the start
  • All timer disaster WM main event with Rhodes
    Ok match with Orton
  • Comedy match with R-Truth that surprisingly had provided more story than all of his feuds this year
  • Ok match with Punk,
  • Decent(but very overrated imo) match with Rhodes at Summerslam which ended that awful heel turn
  • Charity match with Logan Paul
  • Squashed by Lesnar
  • Incoming ok match with AJ Styles

Only has a couple dates(not necessarily matches) left after this…

Also dropped the ball big time by not pushing the Ron Killings move more. He was red hot at the time and when he went down the Ron Killings route they could have capitalised and put him in some good matches.

Just feels like every sensible storyline this year has been botched. I don’t want to put it on HHH cause I think the people above him are partly to blame.

But Cena heel turn botched. CM Punk and Rollins feud still going on is ridiculous. Still dragging out the bloodline crap too at this point just bury it.

Saw suggestions that Gunther was going to be Cenas last match, but don’t know how accurate that is.

Solid, if unimaginative choice.

Gonna be beaten again to obviously “pass the torch” but it doesn’t even matter anymore because Cena hasn’t been a serial winner for years.

That’s who I thought it’d be initially although I felt like the way they set it up it’d be Lesnar instead.

It also seemed like they were angling for a match with Drew at some point but I think it might’ve been Drew doing it on his own.

At least Gunther will get a good match out of Cena. :man_shrugging:

I saw Stevie Richards video on Kairi Sane and Iyo Sky doing an Alabama Slam on the edge of the ring.

Fucking hell, somebody’s going to get hurt badly.
