Can’t wait for WWE to miss up on an opportunity to do an all timer team up of Cena, Punk, Orton, Cody and Roman at Survivor Series.
Gotta squeeze in the Usos or LA Knight.

That is not a line up I want to see. Just reflects how reliant on aging talent WWE is at the moment.
Yeah that looked really gnarly. She hit really hard.
They did a square off between the Wyatt Sicks and Solo’s “Bloodline” on Smackdown. I’d honestly rather see that as the wargames match in November than another Punk / Reigns / Orton / Cena / whatever.
Neither the Wyatts or Solo’s group are that over but honestly how are any of these talents going to get over if they’re never spotlighted?
How did Edge & Christian, The Hardys and the Dudleys get over? Vince gave them proper time on major shows to do something new. Honestly I don’t know how good some of this talent on the roster is but we’ll never find out if they never get a chance. It doesn’t have to be the main event, but give them something.
Damn, haven’t seen AJ come out in trunks in ages.
Sidenote, Cena just got a mad pop in Australia.
Ok, this has turned into a video game match now. Cena is out there doing everyone’s signature moves again.
For fuck’s sake man.
15 minutes in and the bell hadn’t rung on the first match. Ridiculous.
It’s only uncle Dave so he may be chatting shit, but apparently the plan is to do Cena v Dirty Dom soon.
I wonder if they’re planning on giving him the IC title before he goes.
If that’s the case, if Gunther is his last match, are they putting the title back on him ahead of WM season? Not sure how I feel about that. Feels like a step backwards for Gunther.
What’s this awful finisher spamming thing that Cena keeps doing?
Not that wrestling has any credibility left but fucking hell the business is a sham now.
Even the veterans are partaking in the nonsense.
I was hoping it would be either Dominic Mysterio or Edge.
I had to go find highlights after some of the comments here.
Oh my god
you can only laugh at this point. I’m never gonna get a wrestling product I’ll enjoy ever again. What the fuck.
Survivor Series 2001 had a finisher spam ending, but it’s so different to the garbage these days.
First the stakes (kayfabe) of the match were massive. Bigger than a title match.
Secondly only Rock and Austin kicked out of finishers in that match. Even Undertaker took a pin after one Stunner.
Thirdly there was mostly distractions even in those finisher kick outs. Only one of those counts were clean. Nick Patrick’s ‘slow count’.
Here AJ Styles just kicking out of everything no problem. ![]()
It does seem especially egregious in WWE these days.
AEW does it too of course at times, but it seems way more rife in the big WWE matches right now.
I don’t necessarily mind it sometimes, in a big match where it becomes a real battle to put someone away and they up the ante, but that just looked like two guys hitting each other with everyone’s else’s finishers and kicking out. Seth kicking out of the top rope Cross Rhodes looked silly too imo.
As someone who grew up with Japanese wrestling the whole “fighting spirit no sell” spot and super late kick outs of moves that would kill a man does still get a pop from me, but only when it’s done right and it means something. Not every match.
I didn’t get as annoyed by it in this Cena match because it seemed pretty clear the match’s presentation wasn’t super serious. In football I would have said it had a bit of a testimonial vibe.
But in general, it’s a big problem. It’s every PLE now. In fact it happens on TV from the highlights I’ve seen too and it just makes matches silly.
Under Vince, for the most part, it felt like there was a limit. If you got hit with 3 finishers, even if it was the Wrestlemania main event, you were staying down. And that was how it should be. Kicking out of a finisher should be massive, not routine.
Even before this recent “finisher tribute” gimmick, he used to be the king of finisher fests in WWE, even when he was still full-time.
Got to a point where you’d see at least 3 AAs from him a match. Even for not that serious opponents.
Cody has gotten into that habit as well.
It’s a big reason why despite its critical reception I wasn’t a fan of their match at Summerslam.
This TNA resurrection is crazy. They’ve just set a North American attendance record at Bound For Glory, breaking the one they set a couple months ago at Slammiversary.
Seems like they’re on the verge of securing a big TV deal too.
They were on the brink of death in 2022 after AEW stopped working with them and the failed partnership with NJPW.
Holy shit, what an ending to RAW.
Breakker turned on Seth, Reed joined him, and then Heyman joined him too. They set it up so perfectly too.
Tis really good to see. Can see them being very comfortable in the #3 spot behind WWE and AEW and hopefully stay strong for a while. They have some great talent too, Leon Slater is going to be big.
Very surprised AEW didn’t pick him up instead. An Ospreay guy too.
Worked out well though because he’s now standing out in TNA more.
Same tbh, id have LOVED to see him in AEW, saw him vs Ospreay in RevPro the other year and it was an absolute banger.
Definitely agree with the latter too, he’s super talented but probably getting more of a spotlight in TNA, may have got lost in the shuffle a little in AEW.
