Bret Hart Was Quite Good

Rusev is AEW level

Bit harsh to say that on Rusev day.

He wasn’t very good in AEW either tbf, so many people better in every way than him on the roster, and imagine that’ll be the case in WWE too.

His Redeemer gimmick was good tbh but beyond that it’s been pretty meh.

I’m a bit surprised he’s returning to WWE. I don’t know what’s left for him to do in WWE.

Yeah thinking back the redeemer stuff was good at the time. And that one meaty match with Hobbs.

Kinda feel the same about Black (though I still think he can go when he really wants to) , wonder where he’ll sit on the roster. Though HHH was a big fan of his wasn’t he? So maybe he’ll feature more.

I agree, there is nothing special about Aleister Black. I have no idea what it is that keeps him in high paying wrestling contracts.

I agree tbh. Can’t speak on his stuff before AEW as I didn’t see it, but outside of a few good matches and cool moments he really didn’t do a whole lot lol.

Absolutely gutted for Kevin Owens :frowning:

Weird that they had him cut a babyface promo about it when he’s been such a ruthless heel for months.

He’s injured, not retired.

I think the point was he doesn’t know if he’s coming back.

Yeah, I was expecting them to just write him out and fit it into the storyline.
I think it’s down to the seriousness of the injury, neck injuries are weird. He is 40 and his body has been through a lot from his time in the indies and then later WWE.
Could be out for a while if not indefinitely.

Yeah but he’s also wrestled at something like seven previous wrestlemanias and this is a pretty nothing feud. I dunno. It just doesn’t seem like a big deal to me.

Is Aldis gonna be the benefactor of the KO injury? Seems like they’re building towards an Aldis v Orton match. It’s gonna be a squash match but fair play to him getting a WM match out of this GM role.

Excitement levels for Mania this weekend?

Medium to low. Build has been very underwhelming for a majority of matches

Incidentally I listened to a James Romero (and Stevie Richards) video trashing the build of Wrestlemania

Once again it doesn’t seem like I’m missing anything lol.

Hahah, low-key intrigued what they do with Orton which seems to be heading to an open challenge, which says a lot.

I’d say overall the best build has been for Gunther v Jey. The triple threat had its moments but it feels like they’ve been holding back. I’m also tired of Punk and Rollins feuding, and I fear the outcome of Mania will see them continue feuding which is a shame. Cena v Cody had a great segment couple of weeks ago but that was the only segment since EC that made me care about the match.

Hopefully they do something with Steve Austin at Mania beyond the Hall of Fame. Punk is gonna induct Bret v Austin, I’d geek out if they tease Punk v Austin even if it’s an awful idea at their age.

I think it will deliver on the night(s). Even in years where the build isn’t great it’s rare the show itself isn’t memorable.

Even WrestleMania 9 is memorable for being absolute shite.
