Fair play to Cody, he finally met a crowd in WWE that wasn’t having him but somehow, someway he managed to win them back in the same segment and even get them to sing his name.
I do wonder if this is only the start though. Curious to see how the crowd will react to his match with Cena.
I thought Cody was gonna win initially but he’s completely buried Cena throughout this build and left him laying down multiple times already.
WWE logic says he’s losing and for his own good I hope that’s the case.
It’s a good job Cena has a limited schedule. He and Cody have had 3 face to face promos in the build to this Mania and now 2 of them have been terrible.
This one was just really boring. Nothing of any note.
I’m starting to think Vince may have had more reasons than just merch money for not turning Cena heel

Yeah same tbh.
They have been on a little bit of a downturn with most of their main foreign stars leaving and their aging stars being made of dust and nearing retirement, but still got enough about them to be ok I feel.

That main event carried the entire show. US Title and the Lucha matches were decent for the undercard.
Rest were a bit meh. I was expecting Jade v Naomi to be a complete mess to be fair but surprisingly it wasn’t.
He’s had many but that was one of the best CM Punk entrances ever. That video with “This Fire Burns” gave me goosebumps.
A lot of fans already deducted that Heyman would join Rollins and win with the build they were going with but they executed it so well that it still caught you off guard. Crowd(a tough one I might add) ate it up.
Sets Rollins up for a much, much needed change, one which I think we’ve been slowly seeing in recent weeks. He’s been coming off much better in his last couple of segments, especially the last one on Smackdown.
I hope this means he’s dropping the over the top dressing. His best work to date is still as The Authority’s guy.
Not sure if they tie this up with The Rock but it makes sense that he soon wears some gold around his waste. Could just have him beat Jey at Backlash. Or if Cena doesn’t beat Rhodes, they can have Rollins do it instead.
