Boxing

One thing’s for sure about Fury he’s on a major slide and definitely isn’t the fighter he was even a few years ago. I think that’s partly why we’ve seen him adopt the Kronk style. Can’t see how Usyk at his best loses to him especially now.

Also the way Eddie Hearn went OTT with the Joshua praise was ridiculous. Some Paul Heyman shit. You’re calling him the best off the back of beating Wallin and Ngannou following two convincing back to back losses to Usyk?

So when is one of these pussy boxers gonna come over to MMA?

Hate these fights being billed as some kind of measuring stick. And I know the answer is basically never because it ruins their brand and aura and of course the money element. With MMA guys coming over to boxing, the MMA community just see it as a bit of fun and a bonus if they do well.

Francis fought two of the best boxers back to back, no top boxer is coming to MMA and having a performance like Francis did against Fury.

Lol these guys all know deep down that the worst UFC fighters are destroying them in MMA.

Zhang v Parker was a far better fight.

Nail-biting to the end. Maybe Zhang’s age told in the end.

Nobody wants to go to MMA and get paid $20k to get put in an arm lock. Better fold like a deckchair in the boxing ring and get $1mill.

Well they’re usually paying close attention as an MMA win in top level boxing is a huge statement but also the fighters are very much in it for a huge paycheck. Ngannou is possibly the only fighter to take on the UFC brass, get out on his terms and win out financially and stock wise.

Those boxers talking up going to MMA and flattening guys in the octagon are very deluded though and trolling. I don’t know if you’ve been following Ryan Garcia recently but he’s in no state of mind for any of this chat and has talked up going to MMA many times to fight O’Malley etc but is completely off his rocker on substances.

Yeah I saw Garcia say he outwrestled his security guard so he can hold his own in MMA

I actually think the leg kick is what boxers forget about since a lot of the moves boxers use in boxing don’t allow them to defend kicks effectively.

Yeah as I said above, money is a huge factor. Boxing also provides a better spectacle for the fans because it can appear more even despite big differences in skill.

It’s not a great product for Jon Jones to just ragdoll Fury or Joshua and sub them inside a round.

Limbo!!

He’s been saying a LOT more than that… not just fight related. The bloke has aged 10 years in like 7 months

No elite boxer is going to make that transition. They don’t have the conditioning for MMA.

Fury might shoot his gob off, but anyone who follows combat sport knows full well that if he, AJ or Usyk stepped into the octagon with Francis or Jon Jones, they would get absolutely destroyed in the first round. It would be less of a contest than we saw last night.

The only reason these fights are somewhat competitive is because the MMA guys are fighting with a fraction of their toolset.

All it would take is a single leg kick and it’d probably be over. Let alone being slammed to the floor and choked unconsious.

Francis needs to lower the level if he’s going to continue boxing. Chisora would be a fair fight.

Take out the anomoly of Ngannou, nothing suggests that Fury is on the slide at all. The Kronk style is the best thing to happen to him. He’s the complete package now he has pop in his punches.

There is o legitimate reason to make Usyk the favourites. He looked average against an average Dubois.

Boxers don’t speak as if they belong in an octagon. MMA fighters seem to think that their combat skills translate - they don’t.

It’s not that. It’s more about how much each sports pays.

Francis, in one fight, earned more than he would get for an entire MMA career. If that wasn’t the case, you would see zero crossover fights.

Loving the arc that Parker is on.

The money is definitely the biggest determining factor.

I believe their is an element of mma fighters believing that boxers/boxing is inferior as well.

I love boxing, but when it comes to combat sports, it is inferior.

Joshua doing what Fury should’ve done.

I don’t know about any Fury decline, but surely even coasting it Fury should’ve ruined him, I mean Joshua knocked him down so many times inside 2 rounds.

Fury calls himself the baddest man on the planet lol
