Best get drinking then.

How did the Shrek beer taste?
A decent pint. Not too acidic. I would definitely have it again, although I prefer a Pilsner, or lighter ale with sushi.
This one was similarly enjoyable (more citrus):
I was going to open a dedicated Wine thread but remembered we had a Booze thread so posting here…
I enjoy a good bottle of red most weekends and pretty much only drink Malbec now, but decided to try a Tannat for the first time tonight. As smooth and slightly lighter than a Malbec, it went down well and will definitely be trying some more. Any other wine enthusiasts on here? This was the bottle in question…
I wouldn’t call myself an expert, but I’m definitely enthusiastic about wine.
Less so recently, as I became vegan, so I don’t get to pair a good bottle with all that cheese and Italian food I used to enjoy. Also, having kids means less opportunity to indulge.
That said, me and my wife just spent our ten year anniversary down in Temecula and enjoyed a few tastings. Temec is a fast growing area for wineries, located about 2 hours drive SE of Los Angeles.
Cancelled a number of memberships over the past several years for reasons already stated, but our one remaining membership is run by an Argentinian fella who learned winemaking in Italy. Like myself, he’s also into motorcycles and there is a mini bike museum onsite. The whole design aesthetic is bikes! So that was originally what got me interested in signing up, as well as the fact that the winery used to win a lot of the blind-tasting comps in the area.
If you’re ever buying off the shelf. Don’t get too carried away by the big point scoring wines - it’s more often all bullshit, and sometimes the bottle in the store doesn’t even correspond with the vintage that won the award.
It must be nice to live in that sort of climate and close to wineries. I’ve always gone by what I like, as opposed to what I am supposed to like. For that reason, I generally don’t like wines from France, or at least, I haven’t found one that I really like. My default was originally always Shiraz, as I liked Australian wines, but since trying South American, I haven’t gone back. Had never heard of Tannat before, until I gave it a go, and blimey it was good. If you have any recommendations from your Argentinian fella, please let me know!
I drink wine occasionally and I had to admit I’m a complete moron about wines, grape varieties, and all that stuff. Today I was watching a video about Wine and climate change, pretty interesting and worrying at the same time:
Such a good film
