Black Lives Matter Movement

Half the time it’s just the Police disguised as Antifa fckn everything on purpose. Starting fires and smashing windows in the hope others will follow suit. Cause an issue by killing someone, incite the riots then follow up with more murder under the guise of riot contol. Fck the Police :policewoman: only a matter of time before people start hunting back.

Fair enough although I would expect everyone to consider the nuance of these uprisings and movements and try to understand why this instability is happening in the first place. Regarding some antifa protestors–my personal policy take corporate media reports as well as independent news sources with a grain of salt. Also diversify where you get information.

And read a decent fucking book once in awhile (personal advice take it or leave it).

I get my information for all places, I dont trust media at all, its there to make people angry and divided. Said this multiple times before as well. Its obvious why the instability is happening, I just don’t agree with how its being handled, people are dividing into small groups and not coming together, that’s how the ones in control want it to be. But thanks for assuming and trying to teach me oh wise one.

And okay? What do you recommend? I love the smell of my own farts?

Ew.

Regarding the word ‘Bingo’ and extrapolating the fascism element of the conversation.

I am referring to Antifa in US as I mention that labelling the election of a right-leaning party/right-leaning figure as fascism/fascist is a disservice to the people who elected said party or politician.

If people are electing entities who hold far-right ideologies then it is not fascism, rather the need of those people who genuinely believe immigration, climate change measures or whatever are making their lives difficult. If you don’t listen to them, then it is not a democracy.

US democracy despite being dictated by 2 parties is a stable democracy. There is no need for Antifa there.

Well your point above suggests “the one’s in control”, are not actively involved in creating division but are nonetheless benefitting from said division. I think it’s clear that the Republican Party and the Trump administration are actively stoking it.

And I think you took my point about news sources and reading books to heart there. It was a general point about consuming of information–not about you in particular. You took it personally and got petulant again.

In a reply to my post, seem pretty directed to me no? Just a predictable attempt to belittle me.

Both sides are dividing, not just trump.

Ok, let’s continue with the the premise that the US is a stable democracy. There have been mass demonstrations for months, some turning violent like the ones today. Why is this happening if this a stable democracy?

Democracy can’t erase inherent bias among individuals.
By that measure, it would be hard to find any stable democracy.

Well I’ve clarified I didn’t mean you individually but you’ve latched on to it so fine if the shoe fits.

And the classic “both sides”. You’re going to have to do better.

My question was about the mass protests. You made the statement “the US is a stable democracy”.

Again, using your premise of “the US is a stable democracy”, explain the mass protests.

I can’t. Mass Protest doesn’t state that democracy is not stable.
India is one of the best run democracies and even we have our share of protests and discontent.

If I have to try, US is indeed a stable democracy which allows people to determine the composition of the congress and despite a black man running for two consecutive terms, they allowed the liberal party to come to power and remain in power.

It is a failure of people to have been unable to appoint someone who would drive more inclusive politics, discourage gun culture and emphasise on better deescalation training to police department. As a society and as individuals, US citizens failed to recognize what was needed to be in place years ago, failed to relay these actions as a necessary metric on which they want to elect their representative and thereby ended up electing a person without objectives and not complacent enough to proactively drive those objectives.

It is not a failure of democracy. Democracy has given the platform for individuals to appoint someone to execute the values of the society. If the values of the society itself is flawed, nothing Democracy can do about it.

Allot of good points there especially the last part. The only thing I would take issue with is another premise about the liberal party winning and a black man running (Obama?).

Not gonna belabor the point too much but some wouldn’t consider the Democratic Party as a liberal party for various reasons. I know that’s the role they play inside the dual party system but much of their platform and how they’ve performed would suggest otherwise. True, Obama is a black man that ascended to the US presidency but there’s more nuance to his election and time in office.

Good post. There is nothing in school learning which is racist or prejudice. Great effort and care is taken to reflect diversity whilst still teaching broadly and deeply. By decriminalised perhaps they are referring to how many black children get expelled or sent home? I don’t know. The statement is vague and could mean practically anything or nothing. I recently got handed a flyer saying we need to decolonise schools. I should’ve asked what this means as I literally have no idea.

To expand on questions regarding “stable democracy” and fascism in the USA

I don’t get how that demonstrate what you just said? Is there not a problem with mail in ballots (sending out ballots to everyone regardless without them requesting it)? Why not absentee ballots (voters have to request them)? Doctors say people can vote in person did they not? Is it not the case Democrat’s wanted to delay the last Covid relief because they wanted to put in a clause that gets rid of voter I.D? Didn’t the Democrats also say the Biden should not concede and any circumstance if it’s a contested election? So why is it when trump says thing it’s fascism?

Vox asked 5 experts then it must be true :unamused::+1:t5:

The article basically says he is not but his views are immoral :joy:
But some of the definitions they gave can be applied to antifa which is Ironic sine they say they are anti fascist

Not unless you’re against democracy and against people being able to vote without contracting Covid 19. Which you are because you’re a pro-facist Cunt

And here comes the unhinged useful idiot. Do you think the safest way to conduct a legitimate election is by mass delivering ballots wether people want it or not; When is has shown to the most flawed and unsafe way of conducting an election? When is shown to disenfranchise first time voters and black and Latino ones. You are the type of person the never has a thought of your own in your head I know what you will type before you do there is no nuance in your world view just garbage based on no research. You are sheep nothing more nothing less. Pro fascist I’m starting to feel like you don’t even know what a fascist is
