Bayern vs Arsenal (CL) 1-0

Well if we’re so flexible why’d he sit on his hands yesterday?

You won’t believe where Havertz was playing when we conceded the two goals yesterday.

Was Zinchenko still on the pitch though? He got all his changes wrong.

Yeah, definitely.

He can only act as an 8 in those games where you absolutely expect us to dominate the opponent completely and have a one way game.
Otherwise he’s way too attacking oriented and far too direct to act as an 8.
Also, another issue is that in those other, tougher games, you need a proper 6/controler - Rice absolutely isn’t one.

That’s why I’m still quite baffled how Arteta opted for this lineup against Villa, and never even bothered to bring on either Jorgi or Partey. In one hand, I can understand he was saving Jorgi for Bayern and didn’t want him having to start 3 games in less than a week. Also Partey still isn’t 100%. But one of them was surely fit enough to play at least half an hour and that could have made huge impact on the game.

It will take some time to get over this.

I hope we learn from this and go through those Bavarian cunts.

All is not lost yet. We still have every chance to WIN the CL. We have shown we can compete with City, if we go through. Just no space for any errors left from now on.

Get back on the track you cunts!

Cunts!

Need a big moment from Martinelli.

That deflected winner against City feels a long time ago.

He’s one of our pillar players. Contribute something special please man

Scored the winner against Liverpool too.

Winner against Bayern coming right up then

I’m working a long one away from home tomorrow, and will be unable to check the score, so come the end of my shift I’ll either be celebrating with a Guinness or just fuck straight off to bed.

God speed lads :v:

Game’s not till Wednesday

We haven’t crashed out of the league title yet, if we drop points again before City do then that’s crashing out imo.

I can’t accept that we’ve crashed out after 1 defeat and if city draw a game before we do we’d be top of the league.

They play Brighton midweek next week after games against Real Madrid in the CL and Chelsea in the Cup. This is all in an 8 day spell.

We could also be 4 points clear of them by then (albeit having played 2 games more).

I’m very hopeful Brighton end up doing something.

Been very positive this season, hardly ever voting for anything other than an Arsenal win… but I’ve gone for Bayern to win inside 90 here.

Just feel like we’re still some way off being reliable performers in European knock out ties.

Still, I’m not totally pessimistic, I think it is absolutely within our capabilities to advance here, I’m just not convinced it’ll happen.

Would be absolutely delighted if we do though. I think reaching the semis would be a good look for us in our first season back in the competition.

Arteta and the team have reignited my reason to believe again, 90 % of what we’ve been doing the last 2 years have been outstanding.

If we fall short and win nothing again it’ll be devastating as we’re doing so much right and playing at such a good level.

I genuinely do think our time will come again, when as little as only a few years ago I lost all belief I’d ever see arsenal reach the pinnacle of English football again.

Yeah, I’d be gutted if we end up trophyless but big picture, and you can gauge this from people on the outset, we’re one of the best positioned clubs in world football.

Rival fans will obviously clown us when shit goes bad but I’ve had honest discussions with them before and they’re all jealous of how we lucked out with Arteta and he turned this ship around.

There will always be a fear that we could end up like that golden generation of Spurs that ended up winning nothing, but Spurs never hit the levels we have and we’re only just starting.
Not only that, we’re way more ambitious. A team that’s complacent doesn’t go and spend 200+m after last season.

If I worry about anything it’s what happens once Arteta goes but I’d like to think that’s not happening anytime soon.

I agree, it would be nice to win either the PL or CL but realistically Man City are a far stronger team.
The difference from a few seasons ago is that we’ve gone from being a team with a lot of weak links to having top quality players in every position, while rival clubs like Man U and Chelsea, are struggling to get into Europe and Liverpool won’t be anywhere near as strong without Klopp.

This means we are a far more attractive club for top players to come to and, apart from Man City, most of our rivals are struggling.

And going forward Liverpool are gonna be in transition post-Klopp, Man Utd will be in transition under Ratcliffe, City are a bit of unknown with the charges and Pep’s contract ending next year, Chelsea are likewise a bit fucked.

It’s all falling into place for us to dominate for the next few years, at least domestically.

Things can change quickly in football

Teams have cycles especially when you don’t take chances when they are presented, Saka and Saliba signed 4 year deals

We don’t have a pedigree of being elite in the world for a long time, you’ve got to strike whilst the going is good because who knows what the landscape is in 3 or 4 years.

And I think you’re underselling Liverpool, this is their transition year and they’re competing for the title. Best year they can be better.
