All the foul calls really disrupt the flow of the game. There were a lot of bad calls against both teams last night but you can see tonight how much of a rhythm team the Lakers are. The biggest thing for me the past two games has been the defense if we keep playing like that we’ll be in good shape.
Not on his shooting hand and looked only like a dislocation. Dame is the closest thing we have to Kobe in the league (He and Russ) and those types of injuries never stopped Kobe. He’ll be back and be fine.
I wonder why Kawhi wanted to team up with Paul George, the guy goes awol in every playoff, Barkley had a field day with him on Inside the NBA… NBA twitter calling him ‘Pandemic p’ now
Wow I knew he had a bad game 2 but just checked the stats for game 3, wow . Kawhi really had a chance to be with LBJ and AD and chose Pandemic P smdh. The Clippers have a better overall team ngl but AD and Bron are a much better duo than Pandemic P and Kawhi. That choice made the league very interesting this year but, fuck me woulda been a wrap with those 3.
Eastern Conference 1st round looking as drab as fuck, likely sweeps for Toronto, Boston and Miami whilst the Bucks will win comfortably in 5 despite somehow losing Game 1.
Yeah agreed I guess. I guess the intention is a bit different in the hypothetical case but I’m with you.
It’s definitely clownish and I wonder if Luka does get some people clowning on him because he’s a white guy from Europe who is one of the stars of the league.
I can see the argument being made that If Luka or somebody says ‘black boy’ it will be taken a worse because that’s not really something that’s said as much, and you could argue the intention is that it’s racist. So if you use that, you are probably intending to offend.
Whereas if Montrez said ‘bitch ass White boy’, white boy is a term that is used often and the intention may be to clown but not offend.
But that’s me speculating. They are essentially the same situations and same words as you say.
I agree that if the intention is not to offend, then it’s not really an issue. Especially in the context of a heated basketball game. I honestly don’t have an issue with it for a number of reasons:
The first being that it’s a game of high-level playoff basketball and it’s a place of heated emotions and passions. The second is that it’s literally just words and they can’t hurt anyone unless they let it happen.
Third is the fact I use the term ‘white boy’ or ‘white boys’ about 32 times a day in my personal life.
It’s all about the context of the situation. The words white and black clearly aren’t offensive as words. However when ur using as an expletive to talk shit to someone in a heated moment, is where it becomes an issue. He brought race into it as a slight, like I’m pretty sure Montrzl wasn’t complimenting him in that moment, he clearly meant to slight him with the whole comment.
I come from an area of LA where white ppl are the minority, I’ve been called *choose ur expletive + white boy countless times as an attempted slight, very clearly what Montrezl was attempting to do.
But we can’t make our foul shots lol maybe its not a bad strategy man. Ya know what tho I think I’m changing my tune. This Lakers team is not the team that was peaking in March and should have been done with the playoffs almost two months ago. This is like the Lakers team from early 20/21, which I always assumed would be worse personally thought 20 was our window. We won’t win it. We might sneak by you guys but we won’t go very far.
We just couldn’t deal with the class of LeBron and Davis in the end.
Ultimately it’s hard to be overly disappointed as a blazers fan, unless Dame ever gets to play alongside another top 15 player these sorts of exits to more talented teams will keep repeating.
