Basketball (NBA/ FIBA)

This Pacer’s court layout for the in-season tournament…doesn’t look great.

Edit: Bucks is not good either.

Bulls court is alright.

At this stage of the season? It’s pretty meaningless and they still don’t have Beal back, so it’s not like they’ve played with the 3 that have garnered them all this hype. I’d be more interested to see them after 40 or 50 games.

Think Denver, Celtics are both some way ahead of them anyway regardless of the start.

Sure granted, it’s early and they’ll improve but improve that much? I dunno.

I personally don’t rate them as a top tier contender anyway, even with their big 3 all playing but every team loses games against shit teams throughout a season and the first 10 games are especially hard to tell anything from, you’ll often have teams like the Magic going 7-3 or something and then falling back to finish 22-60.

I think the balance with that Suns team is just off and they don’t have a genuine 1, plus they could do with a better 3 and D guy since KD is more of a 4 now and you probably want him not having to do the legwork that a typical 3 does defensively at this point in his career.

To be clear although it was me bringing up the Spurs losses it wasn’t really about their win record. They don’t seem that impressive. I watched them against Lakers and Durant was gassed carrying them. Their depth is still suspect.

Fair call, I haven’t really watched a full game of theirs yet this season. I think they’ll be hoping guys like Okogie and Little can fire and play some strong D and hit their shots.

Tbh I think the modern NBA template is two stars and use the rest of the cap to put the right pieces around that, depending on what positions your stars play. E.g. Denver have Murray and Jokic and then they fill it out with Gordon, MPJ and guys like Brown, Braun, KCP etc who will fill specific roles and do specific things. Same with the Lakers when they won, Lebron, AD and then guys to fill roles like KCP, Green etc.

3 stars just tends to be diminishing returns due to th cap.

Some big scoring games today.

Sixers barely get over the line and beat the Celtics.

Clippers 0-4 since trading for Harden

Warriors looking old. 11 games in and they are just above .500. No player has scored above 20 points in a game apart from Steph. The team sorely needs a trade or two.

They did, for CP3 already??

To get off the Jordan Poole contract. I’d personally trade him again and would assume they’ll be a bunch of willing takers for his expiring contract. Same with Klay.

including CP3, they are old horses already… and not much chips left for them to make a trade that could boost them as a real contener.

Udoka’s Rockets plays some nice stuff. Houston really got a free run in hiring him.

they have been rebuilding since Jordan left

They haven’t been committed to one. They were decent with D.Rose too.

Lately they’ve tried to chase wins yet seen no results.

The Bulls are a mid organisation before Jordan era and mid afterwards. It is what it is with them.

they were never a contender after the dynasty… so…

Smart thing to do.

Seeing markannen ball since leaving hurts too
