Arsène Wenger

Fair point. But he was always good at getting the best out of very good players especially offensive ones.

:joy::rofl: but by that logic your not allowed to criticise Arteta or Xhaka or anyone else considering their achievements far outweigh yours. I’m sure Arteta or any other of those players “don’t need a bunch of dirt pounders sitting at home on their couch who want to talk about his legacy cuz they’ve never accomplished anything worthwhile in their lives, to validate their own careers.”

Xhaka is already proving his self-conscious side by basically saying he’s better than the club and trying to leave for Roma. The man is as shallow as they come. Arteta, that dood will jump at the chance to leave Arsenal if a bigger club comes calling, I mean the dood just screams front runner/flat track bully to me. However both of these doods really haven’t accomplished a lot of tangible things in their career regardless. My 3 straight nominations for salesperson of the year from 2016 - 2018 could honestly give their shit accomplishments a run for their money :grin::+1::+1:

Seeing as we’re all Arsenal Fans I would think wearing the shirt, playing at the Emirates and then managing the club would be seen is a pretty big achievement. Going by your logic Unless anyone here has played for the club, and achieved more at the club then they don’t have a right to criticise them.

Your name is Curtis? Ew… :face_vomiting:

Yessss! Arteta can fck himself. He can’t even sell Xhaka.

Big up Big Weng!

You can’t beat the sales job that Arteta and his PR company did to convince Arsenal supporters and the board to buy into him being the right man for the job after the season we’ve had. :grinning:

It’s almost as if there were some very strong incentives for Wenger to stay at Arsenal, but some will obviously paint it as an act of charity on his part, rather than a man making a decision based on what best suited him.

You love Wenger so much you’ve created a version of the top four trophy for your own career. Did the eventual winners have far greater resources than you that enabled them to snatch the glory you deserved?

Nah that is impressive though, NGL

The defence that won Wenger those titles cost almost nothing and he would never have won them if it wasn’t for Graham.
Trying to belittle Graham who won nearly everything, both as a player and manager is ridiculous.

He took a bung, big deal, nearly all managers and players were getting cash in brown envelopes, it was the way it was, especially when top footballers were only earning a few hundred a week and had to go into normal jobs after they finished playing.

Of course Wenger lying to supporters every transfer window and claiming our squad was good enough to win the title every season, when it clearly wasn’t was all honest and true.

He didn’t mind being one of the highest paid manager’s in Europe either, even if he used to haggle endlessly and then lose out on players, because he was so tight fisted with our money.

How much did we spend in Wenger’s last 2 years out of curiosity that yielded 5th and 6th ?

Xhaka
Mustafi
Perez
Lacazette
Auba

So basically the last 5 years over 3 managers we’ve spent a lot and it has got has junk results :sob:

And people will bend over backwards to ascertain the decline on Wenger when Wenger never had this sort of financial backing even in Highbury days.

That man has mental health issues imo

Players definitely gave up on Arsene I his final year when the club didn’t extend him and made him a lame duck. The mistakes that lead to goals that year by the players were astronomical. And we still had a +25 GD and finished 5th on the xGD charts.

He had a year left when he was let go. Not doubting players gave up/he lost the dressing room/however you want to put it but how could that be the fans fault?

I’m sure you’ll find a way of agreeing with him

I’ve already said as much in this thread long before. Our fan base was stupid enough, and rabid enough, to create a toxic atmosphere and aim it at the incorrect person. Wenger was doing the best anyone could under a bad set of circumstances due to the ownership being a ruderless ship. That definitely gave the players an excuse to give less than maximum effort.

Needless to say this question hasn’t been answered but it’s early here and late there, the sun is shining and I’m up an hour earlier than necessary as I forgot to reset my alarm so let’s not do this today :sunglasses:
