I’d say Wenger got too comfortable at Arsenal which led to a steady decline in his managerial abilities.
There no reason to innovate and improve if you face no tangible pressure in your position.

Actually he did tried to innovate and improve going from a slighty more defensive 4-4-2 to an attacking possesion-based 4-2-3-1/4-3-3. That went horribly wrong.

I wonder if he realises we’re heading for the lowest point total in his tenure. And that Liverpool and Spurs have caught up with us, because we are so stagnate. Making top four is not a guarantee anymore. In fact we are going to be 0/2 since they caught up. He simply doesn’t meet the standard he/the club set (top four), not too mention title challenges. People are usually questioned/evaluated if that is the case.
