@JakeyBoy You got something to say for yourself? And don’t even try and deny it, your name is in big letters for all to see…
Seriously though, this is quite embarrassing, and why are they wearing masks? Presumably they’re embarrassed too!

I hope you’re listening Wenger.

I’m honestly surprised that Wenger and the club haven’t had enough of all the Wenger speculation and that they haven’t pushed this contract topic forward, just to get all the uncertainty away. He doesn’t seem to enjoy talking about it at all and goes lengths to defend his position as a manager. Surely anyone has to realize that this can’t be happening until the very end of the season as it’s not a good position to be in at all.
Their bed sheet says boycot puma but they are both fully kitted out in puma gear lol
The speculation over his signing a renewal has been brought on by Wenger himself.
If he had just said, I’ll announce it at the end of the season, he could avoid all this mess.
As usual, he has no one to blame but himself.
But, of course, he is never wrong.

Is it certain a decision has been made? He cannot make an announcement otherwise.
Wenger has said he knows what he is going to do, and we will know soon.
I don’t know why he said that, because all he has done is make the situation more difficult for himself and the speculation is clearly having an adverse affect on the players and supporters.
The only people who are gaining from all this are the media.
They can’t get enough of it.
Surely the board can actually push for a decision now, both from them and the manager as it creates too much trouble not having certainty on the matter. Otherwise they could also just tell Wenger to stop playing games with the media and have him make a definite statement that doesn’t include “you’ll know soon” or anything close to that which is vague at best.
We’re about a month and a half from the end of the season and preparations for the summer and next season should already be on the way. With the manager being the biggest question mark you can’t do that properly though.
The fact that Wenger is playing games shows he doesnt care what the board thinks / knows he has the board in his pocket.
Maybe he’s just a shrewd wordsmith but from Wenger’s talk the past week he’s making it sound more like I’m not allowed to tell you at the moment rather than I know and you don’t so maybe there’s a tiny bit more to it than him stringing the world along.
I don’t know how he really care about the club, love the club by keeping his mouth shut.
Not necessarily to announce his stay/departure, but at least tell the fans to stay cool, and not fighting each other (AKB/WOB). If he doesn’t want to tell people about his decision, just say he will make up his mind after the season, better to have people (maybe the players also) guessing.
From a management stand point, what good it is to see the fans splitting up and turn against each other? Even you don’t care about the fans, at least do some good PR stuffs and not damaging the club’s image.
no doubt they could push for am answer, but if they arent they arent.
Can anybody give me a good reason for him not telling us what the fuck is going on with his contract? The only plausible explanation I can think of is that he knows he’s staying but realises it’s a terrible time to announce it. Not that there would be a good time, in all honesty.
I’ve thought long and hard about our situation and as much as we all know his time is up, he’s still a known quantity and can deliver a certain level i.e. top 4(ish). Unless we’re bringing in a top drawer manager, or an outstanding upcoming manager, I feel like we’re better off with him for the time being. The fear of the unknown is still there, the fear of settling for somebody who will fail even worse than Wenger, and set us back even further. At least with Wenger, despite all of his shortcomings, he still has his name and can attract a certain level of player. That reputation, however much it has been chipped away, has still got some pull. He’s still respected by a lot of players.
It feels like there is literally no contingency plan in place if he leaves as the board didn’t anticipate such a clusterfuck of a season, and if he does leave, I fear we will be scrabbling around to get the best of a limited selection.
It’s genuinely depressing to think back to some of the posts from years gone by, musing on the manner/circumstances of Arsene leaving the club - so many people predicted this happening. So many saw this calamitous demise and clumsy secession plan from a mile off…
You don’t post often these days @Sol, but I like it when you do chap.
Phase four. Acceptance.
