Arsène Wenger

“Used to be a big club Arsenal.” - 1997
Tells you everything about Arsenal’s standing before Wenger joined.

Wenger made it relevant

I know Scottish isn’t the easiest of accents to understand but you do realise Ferguson was stating Arsenal used to be a big club PRIOR to this interview taking place in 1997.

Hich implies it was not a big club when Wenger took over and thereby if not for Wenger, Arsenal would have been another Everton, West Ham, Villa, Tottenham, Newcastle, Leeds etc.
Example are endless of clubs who didn’t capitalise on PL popularity as Wenger and Arsenal did.

Obviously you don’t understand and I’m not getting involved in this bollocks

In other words, we’re f**ked right?

He genuinely believes. He was talking about the lack of experience we have but then said “when” we win the league this season we’ll have the experience going forward, lol.

For what is worth, I’ve seen others still back us to win it, even after the West Ham game.
I presume they anticipate City eventually slowing down.

I would love for that to be true but all I see is City picking up more momentum. They’re beating teams with enough time in games to rest some of their starting eleven.

Not saying we won’t do it but I think we’ll have to be almost perfect because City don’t look like slipping up.

Everything starts with “believe”. Wenger daddy said it right.

I still believe we can make it, till all is done.
With or without Saliba/Holding, just one game against City, anything can happen.

5 years on and Wenger is smiling down on us and we are paying tribute with a wengeresque run of 3 straight draws and shipping 3 goals at home to the bottom club. Always in our hearts

Little did Calum know, we could indeed go lower than 6th lol

Richard Keys trying his best to get a headline out of Arsene and Arsene not doing him a favour.

I gave up when Keys asked him the same question for the 4th time running.

Fuck these pair, the same cunts who were quick to stick the dagger in deeper week after week.

The thing which bothers me the most about this, is that we fans were none the wiser. If we had known he was under this kind of limitations. We would’ve all laid off him during those final 5 years.

From the outside, when we were failing so badly, it looked like it was out of pure stubbornness rather than to secure the future of our club at the highest level.

It’s still sad that we had to go through 20 years of shit to get to where we are now, whilst oil clubs like Chelsea and City with no history could just waltz in and dominate.

Hope he keeps him on the bench for 90 minutes, so he’s fit and available for the Community Shield.

Come on Arsene, you owe us.
