Saw Peter Drury trending and it was about his commentary of our match.
There’s a bunch of dramatic edits of it as well.
Dunno, this feels a bit much no?

Drury fan boys are getting worse than Elon fan boys at this stage.

I enjoy it when he does for worthy occasions like KO stages or games where there’s drama, like late comebacks and such.
This just wasn’t the occasion. I feel like he’s phishing for those edits on social media now.
Nah he’s literally had the same style as long as he has been calling games. I don’t know why people are getting so worked up over it now. It’s just a bit of a meme I suppose.
He’s so over the top too often it’s kinda annoying. Tiktok being obsessed with him doesn’t help.
Respect to TH 14 the king. He spoke a lot of smack about Arteta though and smiled at him yesterday. Surely Mikel knows.
He’s miles better than Arlo White. Drury gets excited during matches, which is a good thing.
If you think his commentary was over the top, then you probably would not have enjoyed his post match commentary. He was going on (along w/the rest of the NBC crew) about how good Arsenal is and the style of football that they play.
It’s been a long time since Arsenal was winning (and often doing it in style). I’m going to enjoy it.
Ray Hudson and Peter Drury have always been the kings of commentating
I was watching an older game a while back, I think it was an El Clasico from early 2010s, and he was certainly still on that poetry stuff but he also wasn’t as wasn’t as dramatic as now.
To fair to Peter, we are talking The Arsenal here.
Yeah this is really the thing now… we are both getting the 3 points and looking confident and strong throughout matches, but we are also thoroughly enjoyable to watch again… and have a fucking likable squad to boot.
This is really peak Wenger-ball stuff we are seeing and I am absolutely loving it.
Everyone of the panel was starry eyed at Saka during the post match interview- including Henry!
Maybe it will brush off on the PGMOL one day.
He has really stepped up in the last 6-9 months - looks like he can take on and beat players for fun. Cresswell was basically using judo on him and i still don’t understand how he escaped cards… maybe b/c Saka is building that weird Sterling-like strength that seems impossible for little guys.
Saka can be a big player for us if he continues on this trajectory - frankly, he already is… and we are lucky that Martinelli is on the other wing b/c teams will double Saka more and more.
Ray Hudson is always the best.
His commentary for that Messi dagger in the 2017 Bernabeu El classico >>>>
We were the only home team to win yesterday
What a game. Even in the first half we were clearly dominate, but West Ham was a tough nut to crack. Their pen was silly soft, but fair enough, can’t complain there was contact. But that second half… holy shit what a display! Both the wingers scoring beautiful goals. Eddie’s goal was a team goal masterclass. The the ball in from White, the pass from Ode, Eddie letting the ball run and turning his defender… bellisimo!!
I, for one, am happy to eat crow. Arteta and Co. have really created something here.
If we play like the team did in the second half against West Ham, there aren’t going to be many clubs who can stay with us.
We rarely gave the ball away but when we didn’t have it, our players were all over them and we looked as comfortable as we did before the World Cup.
We’ve got a difficult run of games coming up against Brighton, Newcastle, spurs and Man U, so if we can get eight points or more from these four games, we really are in a strong position.
