Emirates should be buzzing and this is a huge opportunity. Every game is must win but rotation is key. Leverkusen will probably try to play us a little, which will probably make this more difficult. I reckon there will be space to exploit however which affects the line up that I’d like to see:

Raya

Mosquera

Saliba

Gabriel

Hincapie

Zubi

Norgaard

Havertz

Noni

Gyokeres

Martinelli

Saka, Rice, Eze, Jesus and Mad Max in reserve. I think Kai steps up here.

When it was still 0-0 yesterday, I was getting worried about this match. Leverkusen will be up for it and we will need to be at our best. Had we dropped points, our heads would have been down, but I do now expect us to progress on Tuesday and hope we can keep something back for Sunday.

@Truth_hurts I think you are being a bit too ambitious about starting Norgaard, but I do agree that Zubi needs a rest…I suspect Arteta will start Zubi though.

Same assignment as Everton, win whatever way possible.

Leverkusen might find themselves flattened by sheer momentum after last night.

They gave up a 1-0 lead against 9 men Bayern Munich yesterday.

I think you are right. There is a method to my madness though. Norgaard and Zubi as a defensive double pivot and play Havertz next to Gyokeres. I’d rest Rice.

Could be saving themselves for Wednesday.

Yeah I think we’re a steam engine now - those two goals in the dying minutes of the game will be a huge psychological boost for us.

Felt very pivotal yesterday

Realtime OA Matchday Chat returns

Long-serving OA members may remember the classic Matchday Chat (MDC) from our old forum software, we’re now bringing it back.

We’re opening the chatroom for everyone before the Leverkusen game and again after full-time.

During the match, the chatroom will close as normal, with the match thread staying as the main place for live discussion.

We’re testing this as a pilot to see how it works, with the idea of possibly bringing it back for the really big games later in the season if it’s a success.

The chatroom is integrated in Discourse and mobile-friendly. You don’t have to do anything, you’ll notice it when it opens, and can easily ignore it if you want nothing to do with it.

So get involved, have your say, and join us for the pre-match build-up and post-match reaction. :fire:

Vintage OA. CaptainCesc approves!

Nice, excited to see how the chat experience is on Discord.
If it allows us to like chat messages & revisit them if we missed the match, that would be nice

Yeah you can react to chat messages with emoji’s and revisit the chat at any point, even when it’s closed.
