I doubt that without an Cazorla f.e. The imbalance in this squad is as much a problem as the manager imo.
I dreamt we won 2-0 but the problem was Perry Groves scored as well, so Iām not sure if itās worth having a bet on.
Ox will carry us.
So Alonso and Ribbery out for them. Thiago probably plays deeper with Muller as CAM
Thiago and Lewandowski are easily their two biggest threats for me. Havenāt really watched much of the Bundesliga this year, except for some highlights, and by all acounts I hear Thiago has been playing very well this season. I believe heās been given a much freer role since Guardiola has left.
I think there might be a few goals, so Iām going for 2-2, which would be a great result considering our recent form.
If P.S.G. could, we could as well. Finally i see you a bit optmistic
Same as that, that being said Iād be more than happy if we set up like this
As long as Giroud doesnāt start & we donāt give the likes of Thiago time & space on the ball like Barca did with Verratti last night.
I like this lineup except drop Ox for Iwobi.
Youād play Iwobi in central midfield ahead of Ox?
Without doubt. Iwobi is a much better player/central midfielder.
On what grounds is Iwobi a better central midfielder? The one game Iāve seen him play there he looked massively ineffective and that was the Watford game. Heās much better further forward.
On the grounds that Ox isnāt good, Iwobi is, and he participates much more in build-up than Ox does even when Ox is in centre midfield, and although he hasnāt been given many chances in CM heās surely more worth giving time there than Ox, especially in a game where there will be more tactical exigency (seriously, when Ox starts tonight in CM, as Iām pretty sure he will, itās going to be funny when the shoe collectively hits the floor for Arsenal supporters, the guy does not process the game remotely fast enough for a game of this level, even if Bayern arenāt particularly good this season) and you need a player you can trust to some extent to make good decisions.
Itās tempting purely for Iwobiās ball retention, but the Ox is naturally a Cm and has the pace to make up for his lack of positional awareness when we inevitably get hit on the break.
If weāre dropping anyone deeper Iād prefer it to be Ćzil as crazy as that sounds. Heās ran the show from that position before albeit it was ina friendly with Toni Kroos by his side.
Yeah, I would definitely be happy with that too, then you simply move Iwobi higher up the pitch.
Either way, Iwobi over Ox is a no-brainer in a game like this, for me, and Iām sure weāll see why this evening.
Anyways, Iām pretty confident Wenger is going to pick a midfield 3 of Elneny/Xhaka, Coquelin, and Ox.
I donāt think anybody thinks Ox is a world beater and aside from the odd troll comment here and there, most people have little faith in his ability. But his performances at CM thus far indicate heād be a good fit for tonightās game especially if we opt for a 3 or 4 man midfield. His pace and strength coupled with his ability to make runs directly from midfield will be essential to launching counter attacks tonight.
Yep, verratti ran the show but rabiot and matuidi and even draxler were running non stop all night. Your most famous recent wins against big teams were all because of one man - santi. Man City 0-2 he ran the show, 3-0 Man Utd and 3-0 Chelsea again.
I hope he can return to full fitness but I doubt it. For 3 years verratti is literally the exact player youāve needed, even with santi in the squad, but of course most people have known this also. Shouldāve sold Ramsey when he had any value.
Pretty much doing what rabiot did last night, he could perform a similar role but obviously not with quite as much qualityā¦
If you want to launch counter attacks from midfield Iād much rather Iwobi, or Ćzil.
His performances at CM so far indicate to me the opposite of what youāve just said (that heād be a good fit for tonightās game).
Thereās a few people who have really been taken in with his performances at CM and who are not trolling at all, actually.
Be intersting to see if Ox plays in CM and to see how he does against a much better team than Hull/Saints
