Arsenal Vs Crystal Palace (Premier League) 4-1

Looked in mirrors and try convincing themselves of their own importance.
Until the Internet nobody believed them.

That’s what I’d be tempted to do. But would they just have Zaha run at him? Not that Zaha is what he used to be.

Come on lads, unless Ben is also out the change will be Holding for Saliba and that’s it.
Last thing Arteta will want to do now is shifting players around.

Suddenly not looking forward to tomorrow.

Holding is fucking dogshit, so shifting players around to avoid him is worth considering.

The silver lining there, and I think you always have to look for that, is that if Holding is dogshit then there’s only corresponding dogshit coming at him, therefore they should cancel each other out. Hopefully, Holding is of better dogshit than any of said dogshit that Palace have to throw at him. COYG!

“Previously part of Tottenham’s academy.
Reuell joined us in 2020 after taking a break from football.”

Yeah, you said that.

“part of Tottenham’s academy…
…taking a break from football.”

He’s not Mustafi-level bad but he was doing weird stuff on Thursday because he doesn’t trust himself to be mobile enough to not be touch tight. He’s the wrong guy for this setup and we knew it. Unfortunately our first backup scenario isn’t available.

I’d be tempted to play Kiwior if we’re really only going to make one change. At least the book on him is that he can pass the ball.

We don’t know whether Saliba will be out or not tomorrow. If he is, Holding is more than capable of coming in and doing a job. He would have Gabriel and White alongside him, plus Partey in front. We defend as a team and we are not reliant on a single player. Saying things like I’d play Partey at RB or CB is just nonsense - let Partey do his job at the base of our midfield and make sure all the other players around him do their jobs defensively. If we play the way we can, we will win the game.

We have lost other players at key points in the season, so let’s keep things in perspective. Palace at home was never going to be an easy match. There are no easy games in the PL, but let’s not lose our heads as fans. I certainly won’t at the Emirates tomorrow. I’ll be there supporting the team.

Except we haven’t lost Saliba this season right?

He started at Palace and has played ever since.

And even though we don’t rely on a single player to win, Holding is such a downgrade imo that it changes the way we build up play and changes how we defend.

I agree with Kompany’s sentiment that Vieira was sacked for no good reason. They have run many of their recent games pretty close.
There was a good article on Tifo that discussed how Paddy had adjusted his game plan that resulted in a more negative approach, and not utilizing his players to their strengths, sometimes consigning the likes of Eze or Olise to the bench. Probably down to that difficult run of fixtures.
If they do revert to a similar approach as they had earlier in the season, it should make for a decent game, possibly drawing some inspiration from Sporting’s tactical plan. Palace do have some decent technical attacking players. If they Nick the first goal, I can see this one being pretty tough as they have also demonstrated being difficult to score against, despite their recent results.

Anyway… six-nil The Arsenal!

They’re still very much dependent on Zaha. Unfortunately for them, it hasn’t been the case for most of the season so they’ve struggled.

It’s Olise you have to worry about more these days but the lad’s unpredictable in every good and bad way.

True for both opposition and his own teammates. That penalty against City he conceded was real dumb.

Walters has 5 star potential on FM. Get him in!

Bet we could use Cedric right about now.

I think we’ll be fine today, 3 points and 8 pts clear going into the interlull.

COYG.

Palace’s problem has been creating chances, so if that continues it shouldn’t matter who we have in defence - they hopefully won’t be required to do much anyway.

They haven’t gotten a win in 2023, new manager bounce, we played 120 minutes mid-week and lost on penalties and Man City are currently steamrolling everyone they play.

We all know where today’s match is going.

Need an early goal here otherwise this is going to be a real grind against a low block, much like the last few games we have played.
