Rice being made out like he’s just ended someone fucking career. Jesus.
He’s an idiot because if that had happened to a Man U player he’d have been shouting his mouth off at such a stupid decision.
I don’t think Veltman meant to kick the ball at all. From that angle, he clearly goes for Rice, wouldn’t have touched the ball had it been there.
Some people give Veltman too much credit by saying he orchestrated the Rice sending-off.
He kicked Rice out of pettiness. He planned to throw a kick under the guise of a free kick and was completely willing to take a yellow if his bluff failed.
He must have been surprised himself that Rice got sent off.
The comments are incredible, giant haystacks giving away a free kick at anfield
Sky ref watch - on cue - Rice deserved the second yellow and gave the ref no choice.
Dermot: It doesn’t matter that the ref was inconsistent. “Kavanagh has no where to go, the second yellow is mandatory”
Warnock: I dont like it but under the laws it’s a yellow. Rice knows exactly what he is doing, as does Veltman in getting Rice booked
Sue Smith: "I don’t like it and I don’t think the referee liked doing it. I don’t think he wanted to do it, but those are the rules.
“Rice did know what he was doing. He looks down on the ball before he kicks it away. I can understand the frustration, but they have been briefed and he’s stopped them playing.”
Vacuous lot, predictably towing the PGMOL line…with all the money they collect in subscriptions through PL football and Sky cannot find a single analyst to look objectively or analytically at the sequence of events and not one calling for a red or at least yellow for Veltman kicking Declan in the knee…
all these fuckers don’t know the laws and regulations, can all fuck out
I foolishly just read that ESPN pricks assessment of the Rice red. Such absolute bollocks, dont read it unless you want to be mad all over again.
Nobody can answer where the letter of law is, regarding the ball was rolling.
Can someone just ask these dumb fucks and pretended professionals??
I’m skipping the Football Weekly pod this week. Don’t need to hear fucking Barry Glendenning or whoever they have on wax poetic about the dark arts and how Rice needed to be smarter.
Not only do we need to beat Brighton when we play them away, someone needs to put in a crunching tackle on Veltman that flattens his balls. Or maybe Gabriel can do his “falling on the shoulder” trick.
Thank you Micah.
Basically describes the emotions of most Arsenal fans. Even some non Arsenal fans. I don’t think anyone has described the whole situation so good yet.
No way a player gets sent off for that, that’s a disgrace.
Explained really well how Rice wasn’t stopping or blocking anything there. I didn’t realise there was no Brighton player in the direction Vettman tried to “kick the ball”. Didn’t matter much because he obviously was never trying to play the ball.
Arseblog used the word “discretion”.
The ref must be condemned.
Can’t believe this bs cost us 2 pts.
And maybe more damage vs Spurs.
Arsenal and Arteta’s hands are tied.
We must repost this on internet to expose them.
As Arsenal fans this is what we must do.
Looking forward to the day when referees are replaced entirely by AI.
They get in the fucking way half the time anyway.
Should happen by about 2200
This is what I mean about this result. Instead of getting mauled by a team and trying to improve ourselves on the training pitch, we have to deal with the constant discussion and trolling bollocks from the media for a week or two before we kick a ball again.
It’s so out of our hands and we cannot do anything about it.
I am sure that behind the scenes Arsenal have sent a response to PGMOL explaining step by step how poor that decision was. Rolling ball, not in the correct position, no quick freekick advantage, lack of consistency, Veltman violent conduct etc.
Don’t need that response to be publicised but this refereeing cabal of cunts needs to understand they have cost us 2 points. I hope it leads to a more favourable decision down the line.
Although looking at Wolves last season, they got absolutely bummed week after week with insanely incompetent decisions with no respite. Just apologies and then they got fucked over again the next weekend.
