Arsenal vs Brighton (PL) 1-1

Legend, love the passion with which he delivers it too.

These things are always so controversial, had this debate in the office today with a fair minority claiming the decision to send Rice off was correct.

You always get that split with a decision like that. For me, the best determination of that outcome is you could guarantee that had he not been sent off then nobody would have looked back at that decision with a strong argument to argue the other way.

Exactly.

If that was Haaland in the same situation, we all know heā€™d never have been sent off but itā€™s ok for us to lose points and our best midfielder to miss the next game away to our biggest rivals.

Listening to other refs saying it was the right decision, despite a Brighton player doing far worse, is just ridiculous because thereā€™s no way any other ref would have done the same.

I wish I could go along with that. I donā€™t know whoā€™s reffing the NLD, but Iā€™m not holding out much hope for a stellar reffing performance from whoever it is. Such are my expectations now. Sad.

Theyā€™d be correct if Veltman took the free kick from the correct spot, but thereā€™s extremely clear evidence that wasnā€™t the case.

I donā€™t have any issues with it if Veltman takes the quick free kick from the same spot but you simply cannot centre an argument around ā€œletter of the lawā€ without factoring in the free kick being taken incorrectly.

Every season there is always a massive decision that fucks up our campaign in some way. The Brentford offside goal, the Newcastle goal from last season, and now this one.

Does this happen to every club? Iā€™ve never seen this City side in any controversial decision on the pitch that goes against them.

Of course it happens to every club. Literally every club has sections of fans who complaint about bias refereeing and terrible decisions.

Yes. City had that massive call in the Spurs game where the referee blew the whistle for a foul on Haaland when Grealish was clean through on goal in the final moments of a 3-3 draw.

I remember many occasions where Guardiola blamed the referees for results too.

Wonder if anyone can remember any others for them cos I canā€™t, that haaland one was big.

Meanwhile Brentford lines, Newcastle ball out, villa handball, rice red, martinelli double yellow.

Obv I remember ours more but that didnā€™t even take a minute and feels like we have greater volume of them.

it is not just about the bad call, but also when the call was made, how the call was made, and all situations/timings are included as factors.

Based on the metrics that Iā€™m a member of OA and not any other football forum that Arsenal are the biggest whingersšŸ™‚

We just have the most fans/seem to dominate most social conversations.

Whenever a poll is made online, I always see Arsenal up there lol, I think we just have tons of fans.

If you think weā€™re the biggest whingers, you need to meet Liverpool fans lol

Arsenal fans are definitely the biggest whingers on OA yes.
