What does a doctor or physio do to cure someone of muscular injuries? Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation is still pretty much the advice here and maybe at this level they have some cool hydrotherapy or hypobaric chamber treatment too.
I doubt the doctors are promoting players taking the field when they don’t think they are ready to.
Maybe we just notice more because it’s our club but I thought it’s been a fairly common view for years that we suck with injuries.
We seem to get more and they seem to drag on for ages meanwhile Kane returns 6 weeks early every time the mouth breathing cunt.
I’ve thought for ages it must be something to do with the facilities or some training methods. Certainly ain’t the docs, occasionally we’ve rushed players back out of desperation (Partey and white last year) but nothing major.
Is it well known we have more injuries than other clubs and have you got any evidence for this?
Nothing to do with the physiotherapists or doctors when it comes down to muscular injuries, only the player himself can say if he is physically capable of training or playing.
The docs can only observe and listen to the player.
Just reading through this thread and I can’t get on board with those who think we should “rest” players. At this stage in the season the most important game is the next game. If you field a weaker team in order to save the better players for the harder game then you risk losing both games. I want to go to Old Trafford with a 100% record!
3-0. Jesus hat-trick. Xhaka a hat-trick of assists.
I was advocating some rotation but I think with Sambi coming into the side you need to surround him with the best players. Win the game, play well, let Sambi gain some confidence going into Old Trafford.
Pessimism aside for a moment. I hope Zinchenko is fit.
My hypothesis this season has been with White and Zinchenko playing inversed the number 6 position went from being by far our most important for how we play last year to having much less importance this.
Obviously there’s less quality on the pitch without partey which could be the difference against bigger teams. But I think the overall flow of the game should remain pretty unchanged. We’re still gonna dominate possession we’re still gonna have tonnes of touches in the box. Last year that would have been impossible.
This is going to be a tough game. Gerard will get his team up for it against us. We usually are the team that struggling clubs do well against.
And no Partey and Zinchenko means the left side will be limited in terms of attacking threat and our transitions wil be slow. Let’s see how we go. COYG!!
