I want to let Tierney off though. He is trying to do his job and babysit Mari because he knows Lukaku will do Mari every single time. When you’re being pulling in two directions you end up doing neither job well.

Far from trying to defend Arteta in any way… Just trying to get some optimism for myself in the first place…
Gabriel, White, Partey, Odegaard, Auba, Laca… Plus the RB, Cedric is surely not our starter… That’s like 6-7 starting XI players out.
Yeah, you’re not getting anything with that. I’m not optimistic with Arteta, but there’s surely much more to come from this team when a few of those mentioned players are back.

The issue I have with Tierney is that he has a lot of heart, which is a positive - but sometimes he plays with no brain. Just gets the balls and crosses it even though we have no height up front. And he can’t mark for shit. But not just his fault, wtf is up with Saka, help your wingback ffs!!
Last season it was our creative/attacking threat that was shite, now it’s both. We’ll be lucky to finish top 10 at this rate. On track to end the season with 57 goals conceded
