I said I was confident that a central midfielder would be coming in almost instantaneously, given the decision to let AMN go despite AFCON and our shortages. It’s starting to seem like that might not be the case, and if it isn’t, we really should not have sanctioned that loan deal just yet.
You can’t sign a player only why Partey and Elneny will stay away for one month, because you highly risk to sign an average one. Xhaka and Lokonga were supposed to be enough, but what happened with Granit changed the plans.
I think the plan was Granit - Lokonga until Partey and Elneny return. Martin and maybe Patino were alternative options.
Now I don’t know what will happen.
I think letting AMN go shouldn’t have been a problem considering there were discussions about it since December.
Plenty of time to get a replacement in early in the window but I think the club got greedy thinking they would pull through with Lokonga and Xhaka for some matches.
Thank you bro
I’m forced to stay at home because of covid.
Since when has AFC cared about that?
Ready for the meltdown when Arsenal will not invest in the short period. A backup on midfield and a striker are needed, but if primary targets can’t come in January would be better to save money for summer window than wasting now for average players.
Signing another Cedric, another Marì would kill my expectations on Arteta and Edu.
Can accept not signing a striker, especially if Auba gets reintegrated. Can’t accept not signing a midfielder though. There are plenty of temporary solutions available.
This could end up a pretty nasty month for our season objectives.
For example?
We’ve been linked with Arthur and Gini already.
I wouldn’t object Ramsey either if he can fill in till Partey comes back.
Ramsey would make me stop watching the games lol
Gini is a regular starter for PSG. No chance he will come.
Arthur has played a good game yesterday. I think Juventus will keep him for various reasons.
He’s not a regular starter really at least not as he’s accustomed to.
I agree.
He thought he was too good for us and it turns out he wasn’t as good as he thought.
So he can go to West Ham or Everton, who love our ex players.
He just wanted a huge pay day and also a chance to win bigger titles.
Can’t blame him and he did us a favour.
Who? Arthur or Gini?
Gini wants out actually and from what we hear he is interested in returning to the PL.
Arthur has been playing well recently but Juve has been trying to offload him regardless. Arthur has been confirmed to be one of the players offered and considered.
Both are available if we pay up for their wages.
Gini but Arthur as well.
Wijnaldum has played over 1200 minutes this season. He’s regulary on the pitch for PSG, played everywhere. On the wings, on the middle. Not happy as the most part of PSG players because of bad enviroment in the dressing room and lack of communication with Poch.
They have to play the league, a domestic cup and UCL. Don’t think they will let Gini go so easly.
Arthur is a reserve and Allegri doesn’t rate him at all. Yesterday he came in and had a great impact, helping Locatelli to have more freedom to play in a more advanced role. Suspect the Juventus coach will continue with them even for the next games.
Allegri asked to offload Ramsey. Don’t think Juventus will let Arthur go after Ramsey, remaining with Bentancur, Rabiot and Locatelli.
Forgetting Weston there.
Even if depth is a question, Agnelli would snatch our hands if we offered to get Arthur off of them.
Allegri may complain but Agnelli will just get someone more affordable in and that’d be the end of it.
