Arsenal transfers 25/26

Straight swap would be fine, even us paying an extra 5m would be OK, as regardless of age Trippier is an upgrade on Bellerin.

We’re then sorted for the back 4. Get an old GK on loan as backup, get Aouar, Ward Prowse/Bruno G and Vlahovic and sell Lacazette, Nketiah and Willock.
Net additional spend of ~50m

Not much to do in <3 weeks then…

It may benefit us, but can you imagine Bellering playing for Diego Simeone’s Altetico Madrid?

He would probably perform a lot better because he’d have a good manager who’d uphold expectations.

I don’t think he will survive a training session with them.

I must say this sounds like a load of made up nonsense. If this is going to happen what are they waiting for?

The national team just had it’s best ever Euros and is as well placed as ever going into the next World Cup so what would be the point if this? They’d actually lose votes if they imposed this I reckon.

Edu’s chilling on his 5th summer holiday probably paid for by whatever commission he got from Kia for whatever bum we signed during his reign.

No accountability, easy Street over here.

Exactly, and Arteta and the board told us to be excited in this window.
But it seems that going into the season unprepared and throwing it away after a few poor games is the new Arsenal way.

I am going to have the same stance as I used to during the Wenger days.
Let’s wait till the window is closed.

And how has that worked out for ya?

2015 comes to mind.

I think Arteta does have the backing in the sense that Stan and Josh seem totally enamored by what he’s selling and probably don’t want the expense of buying out another coach and his staff.

I don’t know that the club itself can afford two or three more seasons of finishing between 7th and 10th. That would be almost ten years outside the CL and at that point the club would probably be suffering commercially and not being able to win new fans over.

Unless the plan is to really lean into a rebuild with the understanding that the further down the league we go, the more investment we’d need to come back (in the form of scouting young talent, promoting young talent and also just straight up buying some established talent).

I’m pretty worried about the way things are going to go. The squad seems very meh right now in key areas and I’m tired of people making excuses for Arteta.

That one playing being Martinez. Which ultimately ended up being a bad sale.

Edu’s a cock
How I can have such a different opinion of the man from when he was a player here to now leaves me scratching my head, but there we go.

That is a laughable statistic. Yes, his hands were tied to a point because of the contracts, but does a different DOF do a better job? It’s a low bar.

We’ll probably continue the loan trend with Torreira and Bellerin. If we had the cash to pay out Willian and Cedric I’m sure we would.

… this dosnt make me feel better lol

This is the darkest timeline.

Where have I seen this idea of an Engish core before, wherever it was I’m sure it was incredibly successful

Atalanta have really good talent ID so you’d assume they see something very strong in Tammy.

I do like Abraham, I rate him higher than most people do and think he’ll be a guaranteed 20 goal a season striker under the right development.

But if it’s a shoot out between Abraham at £40m and Martinez at £60-70m then I’m not even hesitating.

Going to be hilarious when we spend 150m on overpriced English players, stories emerge about our savvy foreknowledge of this big rise in the HG player quota, and then the rise never happens.

He may do it in Serie A but he aint it in the PL

@Powderfinger : Oh a bit like the idea that preparing for FFP would be something that would propel us to the top then
