Arsenal transfers 25/26

I dont think abraham is the worst option either its just I feel his level is 5th-8th and he’s not a top4 standard striker. Doesn’t elevate us in anyway from where we are currently.

Smells a lot like how the club got prepared for FFP to “change everything” and then it just didn’t.

Ramsdale, White, Abraham that’s a strong Everton-esque core.

Reminds me a little of when Liverpool spent a ton of money on Downing, Carroll and Charlie Adam.

Don’t worry, FFP will be coming in to force…

Exactly my thoughts on the situation.

Don’t know whether he comes here but Odegaard is just done at Madrid. Kroos and Valverde out of the squad, still can’t get a start. They rotate half their team at halftime, he still doesn’t come on. He is like fifth choice right now and they have interesting academy players in his position too.

Yep.

We need two match winners who will make a real difference to our first team.

Our attack was stale last season and we have done absolutely nothing to change it.

At least with a couple of marquee signings Arteta’s replacement will have something to work with to clear up this mess.

Still need to sell Bellerin, Xhaka, Willock, AMN, Torreira, Kola, Willian Leno and Nketiah

Still need to sign a first choice RB, first choice CM, first choice GK and a backup CAM.

Starting CAM*

Agree with the rest though.

Reminds me of French RB we got from Newcastle…

You should scratch your balls next time…

What? Why? :joy:

Fuck, there is a scenario where we spend 120-140m on Tammy, Ramsdale and Maddison?
Arsenal BFC? :uk:

This is a tough one. On the one hand we really do love to overpay for mediocre players. So I could totally see the Maddison interest being true.

On the other hand, Arsenal always have the potential to be cheap ass mother fuckers as well, which is illustrated by the Ødegaard interest. Will cost us half the fee Maddison will so clearly we are involved

Looks like it’s gonna end up being a battle of our bad business practices, which one will prevail this time??

In all seriousness I definitely see the Ødegaard deal as more likely. He’s surplus to Madrid’s plans and available. Maddison I feel is less likely especially the longer the window goes. Doubtful Leicester are gonna give up an important player to them this late in the window without much time to get a replacement in. Could very well blow up a few good months of their season if they do. If we really wanted Maddison I’ve got no clue why we didn’t make it happen as early in the window as possible.

Nah should be Edu in the image.

This is Arsenal.
We aren’t proactive and we certainly don’t act with any urgency.
We are reactive and just wait to see what other clubs do before anything gets done.

No matter how desperate the situation, all our decision making and business is done slowly, then we wonder why we lose out on decent players and go into every season totally unprepared.

Wondering if Wheatley made some last minute adjustments after that Belll thread.
Anyway, Lingard is lined up as a Maddison replacement.
Wheatley says Arsenal are looking for Maddison alternatives but Bell’s update doesn’t indicate we’re discouraged of sealing Maddison.

But you said before Leicester might be waiting to get someone in first.
It’s a deal worth waiting for. Not bothered in the slightest he missed Hibs in a friendly tbh. Pre season is way overrated after a season like last season in the game.
